Recruiting: Where will Beggs’ Ramsey Hamilton go to college?
High school sports writer Scott Wright answered questions from readers in today’s Power Lunch chat and was asked about Beggs quarterback Ramsey Hamilton’s college future. Here’s Scott’s response:
Tough to tell, because I think he was on the short list of guys OU was looking hard at when the Gunner Kiel thing fell through, but they went with the San Antonio kid, so Hamilton is probably a little more wide-open now. I think he’s definitely the top QB prospect in the state in a pretty deep QB class, so he should have some good opportunities.
Hamilton, No. 9 on The Oklahoman‘s Super 30 list, currently has zero scholarship offers, but has been to several college camps and combines.
Here are some of Hamilton’s best plays from his junior season:

Arkansas or SMU.. He def is the best QB in the state and is way more athletic than he gets credit for. I play on watching a few of his games this year.
highlights against bad teams yes. highlights against good teams like the fish? no sir
maybe a mid major prospect in my opinion
Biggest embarassment the oklahoman will suffer from this top 30 preview will be ranking 7 QBs ahead of Brandon Taylor of Mustang.Led 6A in 2011 in every passing stat.Lefthander has D1 size and athleticism.Throws 90+ fastball as LH pitcher in baseball.Mustang’s QB offensive system has cost Taylor individual recognition in the same way Texas Tech QBs did under Mike Leach. As a junior Taylor recorded 3400yds/36TDs/12INTs against 6A defenses. He is being heavily recruited by Missouri.I dislike being negative to other high school QBs the Oklahoman ranked ahead of Taylor but when you objectively compare stats vs strength of opponents it is my opinion Taylor is underrated.
He won’t be going to O. They only use QB’s that can throw. Being able to make plays with their feet is not a trait that is needed at O. They prefer One Dimentional QB’s. Hope he gets a big time offer to show his talent.

Ramsey will be a D-2 player in my opinion after seeing him play and comparing him to other division 1 football prospects. Just my two cents. Other than that a mid major like Louisiana Monroe or Tulsa could sneak in there and offer.
