NOAH (home school) played DeSoto last year and lost 49 to 18. The next week NOAH lost to HH 52 to 34. NOAH is not known to be a football powerhouse but played with DeSoto for a while.

@dre…. give me those 3 best players (they lost cobb who was their best player by the way) and i’ll take sanders and shepard. Short on athletes? Thats why heritage hall has 4 players in the super 30 (recent updates just removed wakefield so 3). douglass just 1. thats short on athletes right? Not to mention they had a defense that was shutdown. the numbers don’t lie. i’m not the one who needs to put the pipe down.
@Andy…I think everyone would agree that a jenks or union would better represent the state. no argument there.

My guess is Jenks and Union didn’t want to come because it was a one year deal. Maybe Albert and Booker T didnt have openings that weekend? At least that’s my guess

@ Andy….I agree completely. Not sure why Douglass was the pick over Union, Jenks, Carl Albert or Booker T.
@Hall of fame….please put the pipe down. The 3 best players on the Douglass team return, not to mention after Barry and Sterling HH is short on athletes. Douglass is loaded in the backfield with some very good young talent. Remember, I hate Douglass (All Millwood Falcons do), but I am stating the obvious.

@Andy… not you too. Way do people disrespect HH. Neither team would “destroy” the other. It would be highly contested game and wouldn’t be shocked if HH won because if you stop Sanders, NO ONE would stop Shepard.

Rivals rating is so overrated, ratings cannot measure the heart of player. I agree with Sander, Sheppard, Quintaz and Wakefield being great players. HH need to schedule a scrimmage this summer or Douglass need to schedule a scrimmage this summer. In order to measure the talent level at each school. I think it would be very interesting; also HH is scheduled to play a Texas team this year. Both teams will get an early schedule test this year.

@John… I must disagree with you. As far as star power between the two it isn’t even close. Bundage is a beast and The Washington kid is impressive, but I’ll take Shepard and Sanders (rivals 250) ever them if I had too. Not to mention the other 3 DI prospects on HH. But Douglass has plenty of talent. Always have.

But I don’t wanna discredit Douglass. They won a state title and deserve accolades. I just think with Heritage Hall having 90% of their state title team coming back along with Shepard(OU commit) Sanders(undecided but will go where ever he wants), struble(offered by arizona, wakefield(offered by colo st), sharbour(offered by arizona)is alot for teams to compete with. Would be nice to see Shepard and Sanders compete against the best HS football in the country.

Bundage top 5? Ross, Shepard, and Sanders are the only Oklahomans in the rivals 250. As far as star power, you are basing it off potential. Heritage Hall has proven players 5 with DI offers with 2 players in the rivals top 250. Name me another team with that.

Actually Douglass has more star power than Heritage Hall. Heritage Hall have received more pub, Which they deserve, but talent wise Douglass is loaded with a bunch of juniors and sophomore and a senior group lead by bundage on the front line. Oklahomans do not be surprise on how good Douglass will be this year. The biggest surprise of the year will be Douglass running back Diontay Washington, who finish with 1,100 yards behind the player of the year Cobb. This youngster made some incredible runs in the playoffs (Glenpool) and other young players stepping up to the bat. Nobody believe Douglass would make a run in the playoffs last year, but the coaches and players. Congrats fellows, off season workouts..get it in ..

I don’t think its the fact of “more star power” but its the fact of the Bundage kid being ranked top 5 nationally in his class… like with Douglass’ basketball team, they had more “star power” than alot of teams nationall, but the other teams had kids who were individually ranked top 1-5 in thier class and for some reason, that sells more than the “team”.. i agree though.. congrats to them.
