Westmoore cross country runner Noemi Hernandez saved her best performance for her final one.

Ranked in the top five all season, Hernandez won the Class 6A state individual championship and was named the Gatorade/ESPN RISE Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year for Oklahoma.

“She was important to our success in more ways than just her athletic abilities,”  coach Laura Clay said. “She has such a positive outlook on her running, life and work ethic. Family and respect are very important to her, and you can see that in the way that she carries herself.”

Westmoore finished third as a team. Hernandez has signed with Oklahoma Christian.

Yeah big shout out to my cousin Noemi on her outstanding performance as a cross country runner. Now lets see if she can use that momentum in track season.
