Most impressive for LHS last night is that they were up and burned the clock so as not to make it totally embarrassing. They wwere up 31-9 with 8 minutes left in the third and knew the defense was totally shutting down Mac's O. There was just absolutely no question who controlled the line of scrimmage as they held Mac to 60 rushing yards.

Mike, time for me to take my medicine. Impressive win for Lawton and one big, ugly blemish on my Lock of the Week record.

Mike, you're right about my info on this game being one-sided. Boneman has been talking up Lawton for a while as the best team on the west side of the state in 6A, and with all that talent, it's hard to argue.

Lawton obviously handled Ike last week, and with what I saw from Ike at the Mustang scrimmage, they're definitely improved over last year.

So I might be dead wrong on my lock, but I also know that in a heated rivalry game like this one, with two great teams, logical analysis isn't always worth much -- something that teams like Norman North and Putnam City North learned last week.

One way or the other, I expect Mac vs. Lawton to be one of the best games of Week 2.

Scott, you are at a disadvantage not having seen a Lawton scrimmage or game. They dominated PC North and Duncan had only a handful of plays that were for positive yardage. Against Ike they didn't play up to their best and the first string D only gave up one TD. The difference is the defenses. The Wolverines can slow down the Highlander O plays, but the Mac D will not be able to stop Lawton's. Also the line play is crucial and LHS is no question better.
