I agree with you M. Thompson. OU does not have a very good track record with Millwood football players. It's because OU thinks that ALL kids in the state of Oklahoma want to play for OU so they put them on the back burner until a kid from Texas says no. Sorry Stoopsy, but this is not the case. Start paying attention to in state kids just like you do a stud from Texas. How is it that Mack Brown new about Turner before Stoops? Perfect examply, Rashaun Woods, did not get an OU offer. I bet Derrick Strait thoughht he was good enought to play for OU. I am a die hard OU fan, but please remember folks that Stoops won his title with a team built with mostly Oklahoma kids. What has he won since? Nothing!

One thing that this article hit on is so key.. OU GETS IN LATE ON IN STATE KIDS... Unless you are a kid who's parent played there, you are expected to "hold out until OU comes a-knockin" and that's not the case. The same thing happened with Gerald Jones and David Oku (as well as others).. they are nationally ranked talents with several offers on the table and then OU finally wakes up and tries to get in on a kid.

Anybody who thinks a kid is wrong for leaving OK to go play is completely wrong.. and IF you feel that way, you should feel that state schools (OU namely, bc OSU is in on the kids early... kids just don't wanna go there if they have other big time offers) is just as wrong for treating the kid like he's an after thought or a left over.. why not go where you feel wanted?

Perfect example.. TYLER NEAL.. best player (IN HIS CLASS) in the state and he only gets an offer AFTER 80% of the team has evaporated for one reason or another.. That's crazy.. even if you're not gonna play him, you recruit him to keep your pipeline oopen in state!
