Wilson Thu, 04 Mar 2010 20:56:31 +0000 http://blog.newsok.com/highschoolsports/?p=7697#comment-9600 Are you kidding me? “What’s more, Norman North’s boys program, under former Norman player Butch Roberts, is having sustained success.” Have you actually taken a look back at prior years and his tenure as a whole? Norman North has had losing seasons (as recent as last year)and isn’t exactly breaking the record books as far as state tournament appearances. He plays in non-competitive tournaments (other than the McGuinness tournament where they lost the 7th place game)to boost his wins. Success is defined by more than records and trophies, but Roberts doesn’t make the Honor Roll in other important categories either. Coach Roberts’ behavior and the treatment of his players has been under much scrutiny over the years. NPS administration has FINALLY done the right thing for the Norman High kids – now they should look past the season record and do the same for Norman North.
