Millwood’s Josh Turner might be the No. 1 recruit in the state for the class of 2011.
The offers he keeps pulling in certainly aren’t doing anything to dispel that.
Turner picked up another big offer Thursday when Texas extended an offer to the junior.
The Texas offer gives Turner at least 20 from Division I teams. Washington also extended an offer Thursday.
Turner’s other notable offers include all three state Division I teams, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Stanford, UCLA, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Missouri and Ole Miss.
Turner plays both wide receiver and in the secondary for the Falcons but figures to be a cornerback in college. He could wind up as the top-ranked corner in the class of 2011.
Last season, Turner had 648 yards and six touchdowns receiving. On defense, he had 83 tackles, 6 interceptions and 2 sacks.
Turner’s news wasn’t the only development with the Falcons’ football team Thursday.
Another cornerback, Michael Cole, received his first Division I offer, from Tulsa.
Cole had 41 tackles and two interceptions last year.
Cole becomes the seventh Falcon junior to receive a Division I offer. He joins Turner, Emilio Gatewood, Shevin Patton, Davion Pierson, Kevonte Richardson and Brandon Swindall as Millwood players holding Division I offers.
