I fail to see a violation when someone asks a player
to come to a school to play because he will have access
to exposure of major colleges. The OSSAA is about outdated
as the NCAA. Both need to get out of the 1950's mode.

Sorry for the late responses, and I'll have more on the OSSAA board meeting today on the blog, but here are some answers:

Murl,
Southmoore looks like it might have to forfeit one or two non-district wins after a player played after being denied a hardship waiver by the OSSAA's staff. There was a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) granted by a court that allowed him (and another player, who was later granted a hardship waiver) to play. If that player is found to have played a significant role (Usually the benchmark is if he started), then Southmoore could have to forfeit. That wouldn't change any playoff pairings, though.

Jay,
The Tuttle "school problem" on the agenda was to address the situation where football coach Phil Koons made some disparaging marks against referees on a radio show after Tuttle's win at Clinton. Koons was suspended for one game and the OSSAA board accepted that punishment.

What is the deal with tuttle? Are they in with the recruiting scandals also? If so, what can this do to their playoff seating and the rest of the 3a bracket?

Thanks Ryan Aber, I was curious if the OSSAA was going to meet on some of the recent situations regarding schools and suspensions and forfeiting games. Especially Southmoore, I just have a hard time believing with all the new players in such a short amount of time that they all are legitimate. It was funny that all these schools are kind of getting hit with sanctions one by one, but Southmoore hasnt been hit with a single one. Anyway, IM curious as to what that meeting will consist of, it would be nice to know exactly what happened at the other schools. Thanks again Ryan Aber for keeping the ordinary folks informed!

Jenks should have to forfeit since they cheated their way to the championship game last year. Mustang should have played that game not Jenks. Let them see what it feels like.
God forbid the OSSAA sanction Jenks out of the playoffs like they deserve and actually step out of influencing the championship game. Every year Union and Jenks in opposite brackets. Even in the bracket shuffle next year. Can't punish those nationally ranked teams, even if they got there with the assistance of breaking the rules. Great example for the kids.. it doesn't matter if you cheat.
