Star Spencer (7-2, 6-0 4A-2) at Glenpool (9-0, 6-0 4A-2)
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Glenpool High
Playoff implications: It’s simple. The winner wins 4A-2 and hosts the fourth place team in 4A-1 to begin the playoffs. The loser has a much tougher first-round game, at home likely against Douglass.
Star Spencer (L, Millwood; W, Southeast; L, Douglass; W, McLoud; W, Tecumseh; W, Cushing; W, Seminole; W, Cleveland; W, Mannford)
Why the Bobcats can win: Because Star Spencer’s defense has been outstanding since a couple stumbles in non-district play. Sure, the level of competition isn’t what it was then but there has been a marked improvement. Star Spencer gave up 100 points in three non-district games. Since, they’ve given up 23. A big key to that has been the health and stability of Terence Olds.
Glenpool (W, Berryhill; W, Bixby; W, Okmulgee; W, Seminole; W, Cleveland; W, Mannford; W, McLoud; W, Cushing; W, Tecumseh)
Why the Warriors can win: Because they’re used to winning these type of games. Glenpool consistently performs on the big stage. The defending champions are just as strong as they were last year.

Glenpool
Derek Allen: 34-57-531 6 TDs, 4 INTs
RECEIVING
Star Spencer
Stevo Henderson: 9 catches, 228 yards, 3 TDs, 25.33 yards per catch
Glenpool
Anthony Haley: 18 catches, 337 yards, 6 TDs, 18.72 yards per catch
The pick: Glenpool 21, Star Spencer 14. Star Spencer stayed with the Warriors in last year’s game before Glenpool took control in the second half for a 35-6 win. The Bobcats have a better defense this season and are playing better entering this game. It’ll be closer than last year but Glenpool is just a little too tough for Star Spencer.

The game was not as close asthe score indicates,,,,,The BOBCATS had a half-back pass touchdown called back on a bad call .the clock was not started properly at 7:48 left in the game and Glenpool scored thier last touchdown with 28 seconds left. What vidication after being str8 cheated 2 years ago up there. When they called a touchdown(winning) on a play where the kid from glenpool was laying sidways the ball was knocked from the kid….the glenpool coach even apologized for the call. To show domination: STAR HAD ONE PLAY FOR NEGATIVE YARDAGE…the difference was the Line….
Star Spencer’s line mauled them all night the Olds kid is the real deal
Almedia,
I don’t mind being proved wrong in this instance. It’s not like I wrote off Star Spencer as not having a chance. It was a great win for the Bobcats.
Eric,
I can’t speak for two years ago, but agree with you on the game not being as close as the score indicates. Star WAS dominant last night and Olds was phenomenal. I’ll have another blog post about this game a bit later after I finish up with the rankings (and Star is certainly moving up there).

star spencer will win like thae always do so all yall other schools get ready for bobcats to win the game i was a bobcat but im a graduate and im gonna always be a bobcat blue and white
