Putnam West (0-9, 0-6 6A-2) at Midwest City (7-2, 6-0 6A-2)
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Jim Darnell Stadium, Midwest City

Putnam West (L, Putnam North; L, Yukon; L, Edmond Santa Fe; L, Norman; L, Edmond Memorial; L, Westmoore; L, Lawton Eisenhower; L, Edmond North; L, Putnam City)
Why the Patriots can win: With the district title already sealed up, Midwest City probably wants to be healthy and rested going into the playoffs, so some of the starters could be in for a short night. That’s really the best hope for PC West, which will be overmatched at multiple positions.

Midwest City (L, Del City; W, Moore; L, Southmoore; W, Edmond Memorial; W, Westmoore; W, Lawton Eisenhower; W, Edmond North; W, Putnam City; W, Norman)
Why the Bombers can win: Because they haven’t had any issues dismantling every other team in the district. Midwest City has outscored its opponents 283-48 since district play began.

Scott’s key matchup: Midwest City run game vs. PC West defensive front. The Patriots have to find a way to contain the Bomber ground game, and with so many weapons, that’s not easy to do.
Ryan’s key matchup: Each team’s mental preparation versus themselves. For Midwest City, the game is just a stepping stone to the playoffs. The Bombers have to be careful about being lax, even if they are going to win this game. Things get tougher starting next week and Midwest City needs to stay sharp. For Putnam West, the Patriots are likely going to finish winless for the second consecutive season. But PC West needs to play a sharp game and keep their heads up. John Jensen does a great job over there, despite what wins and losses might say. Regardless of circumstances, he always seems to have his teams ready to play even if they’ve been outmatched.

Scott’s pick: Midwest City 38, PC West 8
Ryan’s pick: Midwest City 63, Putnam West 14
