PC North-Del City live blog
10:36: It went final at 34-7, and the Panthers are going to the playoffs. Based on reports out of Lawton, it looks like PC North will be the No. 4 seed, which means a trip to Midwest City for the first round of the playoffs.
10:04 p.m.: PC North adds another TD witha 12-yard run by Dre Holman, leveling a DC safety in the process. It’s 34-7 Panthers with 1:11 left.
9:57 p.m.: Another PC North pick — the fifth of the night — gives them the ball at the DC 15 with a 20-point lead and 3:06 left to play. Billy Prater with interceptions on two straight series.
9:37 p.m.: Matthew Tingle picks off a Chazten Gonzales pass and goes 85 yards for the PC North touchdown and a 27-7 Panther lead.
9:30 p.m.: Two offensive series apiece in the third quarter and nothing to show for it. We go t the fourth quarter with PC North still leading 20-7.
8:42 p.m.: The Panthers force a three-and-out, getting the ball back just in time to drive into Del City territory and set up Kevin Cabello’s 45-yard field goal as the first-half clock expired. 20-7 PCN at the half.
8:32 p.m.: Del City holds, forcing a 20-yard field goal for the Panthers. 17-7 PCN, 1:07 left in the half.
8:30 p.m.: A Del City fumble gives PC North some momentum back, now facing third and goal from the 4 yard line. Dre Holman has 105 rushing yards so far in the first half for PC North.
8:22 p.m.: Del City comes up with a couple turnovers and produces a touchdown. An interception by J’Juan Gay got the Eagles the ball back, and after stalling, Del City recovered a muffed punt. The Eagles fumbled twice themselves inside the 3, but recovered both. O-lineman Joel Reser fell on the second one in the end zone for the TD. 14-7 PCN.
8 p.m.: PC North gets an interception by Dillon Schooley on a tipped pass and strikes on its first play, a 19-yard TD pass from James to Dre Holman. 14-0 PC North with 45 seconds left in the first quarter. James is 6-of-6 for 79 yards and two TDs.
7:48 p.m.: Del City misses on a wide-open TD pass opportunity, eventually turning the ball over on downs, and PC North goes 81 yards for a score, capping it with a 29-yard TD pass from Jace James to Antonio Johnson. 7-0 PCN
7:28 p.m.: Although they have a ton of seniors, Putnam City North still got Senior Night wrapped up in time for kickoff. We’ll get going shortly with playoff lives on the line here at Putnam City Stadium.
