11:25 – Why not one more dramatic moment? Junior Amy Harrison hits a walkoff 3-run HR to give Sequoyah Claremore a 4-2 win against Piedmont. Remington Park turned off its lights before we did.
Whew, back Tuesday (weather permitting).

9:34 – Here are your updated brackets. It’s going to be a while for Piedmont and Sequoyah-Claremore.

9:32 – Caney Valley 11, Chandler 0.
9:05 – Still got a couple of games left with Caney Valley up 5-0 on Chandler and Piedmont and Sequoyah-Claremore just starting. Yes, a 5:45 p.m. game that is JUST starting.
It’s been a fun and eventful day. Defending champions Ringling and Washington were knocked out, both are in 2A this year.
No. 1-ranked Catoosa lost in 4A while No. 2 Tuttle was taken the distance against Fort Gibson.
I walked by FG pitcher Taylor Mills, who couldn’t stop crying. She pitched one heckuva game. I hope she appreciates it. It hurts now, but that was something special in her battle with Tuttle’s Caitlin Sill. Mills had 16 Ks while Sill had 13.
Tuttle coach Jerry Bates praised Sill for her composure in the epic encounter. Tuttle is in search of its third straight championship.
Defending champs Depew and Sasakwa both advanced.
Once the Caney Valley/Chandler game is over, I will post the updated pairings. So stick around. Starting to get some feeling in my fingers again. It got so much colder as that game kept going.
8:45 – Moss 4, Sentinel 0 for those wondering. Just watched an epic battle between Tuttle and Fort Gibson with Tuttle winning 5-1 in 13 innings. I’m pretty cold, too, right now.
5:15 – Almost have all the 4 p.m. games started. Almost. Some additional scores: Defending champion Sasakwa 3, Leedey 0; Sequoyah-Tahlequah beat Henryetta; Colbert 1, Apache 0.
3:48 – Scores as of 3:48 p.m.
Davenport 1, Sterling 0; Fort Cobb-Broxton 4, Dewar 2; Roff 4, Chattanooga 1, Drumright 2, Washington 1; Healdton 7, Mangum 1; Purcell 2, Mt. St. Mary’s 1; Blanchard 1, Little Axe 0 (10); Hilldale 2, Catoosa 1.
3:28 – Kinda taking a gander at the Hilldale box. The Hornets scored two runs on one hit in the sixth inning. Paige Boling scored by wild pitch and then Jordan Stinson scored on a perplexing fielder’s choice.
Could have went to first base for the third out but instead threw it home, and she was safe.
3:19 – Another hour, another HUGE upset. Unranked Hilldale has taken out No. 1-ranked Catoosa in 4A, 2-1. Catoosa had one loss the whole season. Hilldale was seeded fourth in its regional. To be unranked by OKRankings means that it wasn’t in the top 20.
Unreal. Maybe it’s just Hilldale’s time. The Hornets play Blanchard on Tuesday in the semifinals.
2:27 – All caught up. Look for a Blanchard story in Tuesday’s paper. That was one heckuva game to start things off.
We also have another final as Fort Cobb-Broxton beat Dewar, 4-2. FCB and Davenport will play in the Class A semis Tuesday morning (weather permitting).
1:23 – Wow, what a start to the games. Blanchard beats Little Axe, 1-0, on a walkoff HR by Ashley Trent. No. 1 Washington goes down to Drumright, 2-1; Purcell escapes Mt. St. Mary’s, 2-1; And Davenport takes out Sterling, 1-0.
9:57 – Ye softball gods are not looking down on us with favor this week. After a relatively dry Saturday and Sunday, the rain has come back. Well, I should say the mist has come back today at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium as we look to finally start the Class 4A-B state softball tournaments.
But that’s alright as I’m already camped out here, and I’ve been assured everything will run on schedule. Not sure you can make that type of guarantee, but I like it.
Hope to check back here often today with updates. But if not, definitely look for a ‘day 1 roundup’ when I get home.
All things being equal, the fields don’t look too bad. If nothing else, follow me on Twitter @BPrzybylo for updates as well.
