Players of the week: Norman Zone

Norman Zone Players of the Week:

 

Football

Daniel Davis, DE, Norman North

Davis led the Timberwolves to a 42-0 win over Westmoore with four sacks, 11 tackles and two passes broken up. He also had a 32-yard reception and handled the punting duties.

 

Others:

Donovan Roberts, RB, Norman

Scored twice in the Tigers’ 16-0 win over Moore.

 

Chad Anderson, QB, Norman

Threw a touchdown pass and led Norman to its first victory of the season.

 

Richard Peoples, RB, Norman North

Scored on a 76-yard run on his first carry of the game against Westmoore. Led team in rushing with 94 yards.

 

Raymond Demby, RB, Norman North

Ran for a 48 yards TD and averaged nearly 18 yards per rush.

 

Jamar Harrison, RB/CB/KR, Norman North

Had two touchdowns rushing and intercepted a pass on defense. Also had a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown that was called back.

 

Cross country

Megan Johnson, Norman

Had the best time (11:51) in all classes in the biggest meet of the season to this point, the Edmond Dog Pack. Was the only girls runner to post sub-12 minute time and bested two-time state champion Jori Davis of Piedmont for second week in a row.

 

Others:

Tanner Satterthwaite, Norman

Placed third at the Dogpack in the 5A/6A boys division as Norman’s top boys placer.

 

Kyle Wardwell, Norman North

Placed fifth at the Dogpack in the 5A/6A boys division as North’s top boys placer.

 

Danielle Riley, Norman North

Placed seventh at the Dogpack in the 5A/6A girls division as North’s top girls placer.

 

Volleyball

Lexie Matthews, Norman North

Sophomore helped Timberwolves to a 3-1 mark at the Norman North Tournament.

 

Mollie McIver, Norman

Senior’s defense helped Tigers to a 3-0 sweep of Moore.
