Bartlesville certainly has an argument and we'll see how they handle Muskogee. It's incredible that Muskogee sill hasn't scored through three (or, 2 1/4) games. It'll definitely be interesting to see how PCN-Norman North plays out this week and Lawton-Mustang goes.

As for Tulsa Central, they're certainly on the fringers of the top 10 but they have yet to be tested at all. They've played three teams that they should blow out and have certainly done that. They definitely get a test this week against Tulsa East Central and a good showing in that one will go a long way toward giving Central legitimacy. And yeah, Demarco Cobbs is the top recruit in the state so I'll certainly be keeping an eye on him and on Central.

Why isn't Tulsa Central ranked in the newsok Class 5A polls? Every other oklahoma sports cite has them ranked...including news9. They are a good team, plus they have a player name Demarco Cobbs.

I think that Bartlesville has a good argument for number 10 in 6A also. Their first district test will be this week with Muskogee so that will give an indication if they are legit or not. PC North can justify their rank with Norman North this week even if they lose but play respectably. Lawton can show they are deserving of being ranked in two weeks when they host Mustang.

Slow down there a little bit. Carl Albert played Tulsa Washington and Duncan as tough non-district games. Tulsa Washington had Carl Albert, Tulsa East Central and Broken Arrow. El Reno had Guthrie (Not taking anything away from Woodward and Elk City there but there's really no comparison). El Reno is in great shape but to me, it's a pretty clear 1, 2, 3 right now. El Reno is in good shape and I expect them to be in contention late, but I don't think they've done enough to move ahead of Tulsa Washington and/or Carl Albert in the rankings.

How is it that two defeated teams in Class 5A get ranked above Semifinalist of 2008, El Reno's Tom Cobble and their undefeated record of 3-0? I could understand if this was OU's schedule at play here, but El Reno has played some tough non-district teams, unlike OU has so far...OU plays powder-puff teams for their non-conference schedules. Put El Reno up against OU, and I guarantee, OU would get beat!

I fixed their record. But I knew they were 1-2 when I did the rankings, just typed wrong. Midwest City is still in the rankings because they deserve to be. I take a different approach to rankings and have never understood why a lower ranked team that loses in a close game to a higher ranked team automatically drops. And they don't in these rankings. Midwest City took Southmoore to double overtime. I have a feeling the Bombers will do just fine in district play. The great thing about high school football is we'll find out before too long. If they lose anothe rgame, I expect them to drop.
