I have paused this and watched several times and it is a good lateral and not only that the ref is standing 1 yd from where it happens. Congrats on your first State Championship DESTINY. Awesome call coach.

Refs can be caught watching just like average fans sometimes. That is what happened here. Great play, just looked forward….which would make it an illegal play.

State champs? State champs of what? Independent league or something.? Give me a break….join the OSSAA.

If your going to copy Boise State’s play, at least run it right and make a legal pitch.

Did anyone notice that the lateral went forward, thus making it an illegal forward pass. Easy to see on replay, not so easy to see full speed on the field. If I had to re-run the play three times to make sure what I saw, it is incredibly difficult to make that call live.

The comment about the official being only being 1 yard away, is actually a bad thing. Sometimes you can be too close to see everything you need to see. The the only fault I could find with the official is he should have been moving toward the line of scrimmage once he read pass. This would have put him far enough away form the pitch to possibly see it better.

Anyone who wants to rip the officials should go to OSSAA, pay for the packet, take the test, go to meetings and get on the field. It is not as easy on the field as it is in the stands with a bird’s eye view or at home with instant replay.

The lateral is to close to call. The ref 1 yd away I agree he is probally to close but there is a ref behind the line of scrimmage. Two refs within 20 yds of play I beleive it is probally a lateral not backward lateral just a lateral. I also have a son who plays football for N. North and we know how hard it is to make it to a state championship and try to win one. So weather you are in 6a, 5a A, B, or Indpendant those boys deserve the same credit. CONGRADULATIONS Destiny! No they don’t deserve the same credit. Ever heard the term CONGRATS? Wonder where that came from……Oh, maybe the word congratulations. Winning 6A, 5A or A is different from independent. Eleven men on the field for one. Heck, I could go independent and win my own state trophy. You guys should play NOAH from Tulsa. They’re independent.
