Why I would like to nominate Kyle Coleman for Top Performer of the Week

Friday night senior, Kyle Coleman, led the Checotah Wildcats to a win over Hugo. The win cinched the conference championship over #10 Hugo and represents the first championship since 1949. The win also completed a perfect 10-0 regular season, the first in the history of Checotah football.

The Wildcats beat #10 Hugo 47-6. Kyle rushed for 266 yards on 16 carries and was 12 of 14 for 128 yards passing. Kyle rushed for 2 touchdowns and passed for 2 touchdowns giving him 394 total yards on the night. Kyle also had 7 tackles at his outside linebacker position, three back to back on a goal-line stand. Kyle accumulated these stats in 3 quarters as starters were pulled when the score reached 41-0.

Kyle and the Wildcats have had a tremendous year. For the year, Kyle has rushed for 1127 yards and scored 18 rushing touchdowns with no fumbles. Passing Kyle is 108 of 170 for 1504 yards and 16 touchdowns with only 1 interception. On defense Kyle has 48 tackles, three interceptions and 1 touchdown.

For the year Kyle has 35 total touchdowns and 2,631 total yards.

For the year the Wildcats are leading 3A football in scoring and total offense and are in a battle with Midwest City for the lead in all classes of eleven man football.

Nyko Symonds junior at Norman North and two way starter (WR & CB) had a great game against Edmond Santa Fe-he had two catches for 90 yards including a 76 yard TD that broke the game open to make it 17-3. He made two great moves and no one in that fast Santa Fe secondary caught him. At cornerback he was covering most of the game one of the top WR's on this side of the state in Alex Hill and he held him to one catch for 7 yards and on 3rd and goal from the 10 he doved and knocked the ball away to keep Hill from scoring and several times was all over him when the ball came Hill's way. A great overall game by Symonds.
