i’ve lived in agra my whole life. it’s definitely pronounced A-gra. Like, long A sound. lol.

I would like to congratulate the new state champions, I grew up in Chandler but grandparents and uncles/aunts graduated from Agra (A-gra) and I couldn’t believe I was in OKC on such a historic occassion. Our family farm is just south, on HW 18, the Clifford George farm, and I live in (Holiday Island) NW Arkansas. I saw the semi-finals in person and the championship on TV. Well this has been debated the past few years…. It is true the town is named after agriculture …. however my family has had at least 5 generations go to the “little school that could and does”. And I have never heard them say AG-RA, We have had many people move to the area over past 10 to 15 years and that is where I think it started changing so I always tell people that if you are a native it is A-GRA and others call it AG-RA.
