Earthquake! Oklahoma mom not ready to shake, rattle and rollover
What did you do when your house started shaking?
I grabbed the hand of my 6-year-old and started dragging him to the door, yelling, “Get out of the house!”
I had never experienced an earthquake, so to have the house rattling as though a steam engine was about to burst through the walls, was a little unnerving.
What did my family do?
My son was whimpering and protesting that I was pulling him. My husband just sat on the couch. My youngest daughter stared at me like I was crazy. And, my 17-year-old stormed into the livingroom and demanded to know why I was yelling at her.
My husband’s reply in a very calm manner: “She’s trying to save your life.”
Maybe I overreacted.
