I was asked today how I felt about my daughter going to Kindergarten. My answer was, "Proud."

My baby is going to big-girl school tomorrow. She’ll eat in a cafeteria. She’ll get actual letter grades.

Today she’s in daycare. Tomorrow she’ll get to sit at the big kid’s table in the lunchroom. She’ll learn to read. Do math. Recess (which will help tire her out). Science Fairs. Trips to the library. Trips to the office (hopefully not). A yearbook. Milk out of a carton. Blowing bubbles in her milk carton. Sucking Jello through a straw. Field trips.

My baby's a big girl. And yes, Dad's cry on the first day of Kindergarten too.
