The trailer for the movie was released this week, and it’s posted in the clip below.  The film will be in theaters.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s son Jaden Smith will star in a remake of the “Karate Kid” movie.  Jaden will play the karate kid, and veteran actor Jackie Chan will play the instructor. 

If you’re wondering how 11-year-old Jaden landed that big role, his parents (Will and Jada) are serving as the film’s producers. 

Nepotism probably was a factor when it came to casting the role, but Jaden has proven himself to be a talented child star. 

He starred alongside his dad in the 2006 film “The Pursuit of Happyness,” and he acted with Keanu Reeves in the 2008 alien movie ”The Day The Earth Stood Still.”

Jaden was a convincible actor in those two films, but can he pull of ”The Karate Kid” role?  That question will be answered June 11 when the movie hits theaters.  Jaden has big shoes to fill because “The Karate Kid” movies are considered cult classics of the 1980s.

The original “Karate Kid” movie was released in 1984, and it starred Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso (aka Daniel-son) and Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi. 

“The Karate Kid Part II” was released in 1986, and “The Karate Kid Part III” came out in 1989.  The three films earned a combined total of $244 million at the box office, according to IMDB.  

In 1994, filmmakers changed the formula by casting Hilary Swank as the leading character in “The Next Karate Kid.”  The film earned a disappointed $8.9 million in the U.S.

Although many critics bashed the film’s storyline.  Will Smith will return to the big screen to film the sequel to film “Hancock”

“Hancock 2″ will star Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.  Smith and Theron’s characters will return as immortals who try to battle an evil entity. 

The film’s release date hasn’t been determined.  The original “Hancock” filmed was released in 2008.  It earned $624 million worldwide at the box office.

Movie executives are creating a script for “Bad Boys 3.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, executives from Columbia Pictures hope to have Jerry Bruckheimer direct the film and have Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles as detectives Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett. 

Bruckheimer, Smith and Lawrence have not yet signed a contract.  The first two installments were a cash cow for the movie studio. 

“Bad Boys” was released in 1995 and collected $141 million worldwide.  “Bad Boys 2″ was released in 2003, and earned $273 worldwide at the box office.

Actress Jada Pinkett offered a sneak peak into her sex life with husband actor Will Smith.

In the latest issue of Redbook magazine, Jada reveals some TMI (too much information).

She said the key to having a successful sex life with your spouse is “Be sneaky.  Your girlfriend’s house at a party. The bathroom. A bedroom.  Think of places outside that are comfortable to have sex.”

“Does he have access to his office? Have a fantasy date. Be his secretary. Pull over on the side of the road. Just switch it up.”

Wow. Now we know why those two always seem so happy when they’re together on the red carpet.  Thanks for the visual, Jada.

No one should ever doubt that Will Smith is a very generous guy.  He earns about $20 million per movie, and according to his tax returns that were obtained by Fox News, he gave $1.3 million to charity organizations last year.

But what I found most interesting is that he donated $122,500 to the Church of Scientology.  The same church that his best friend Tom Cruise is so obsessive about.

Will has always denied rumors that he was involved in the Church of Scientology, but obviously he is, otherwise why would he donate $122,500?

I admit, I don’t much about that particular religion. But I do know that Tom Cruise is a member of it, and he used to be very judgemental about people who used medication to treat their postpartum depression (such as Brook Shields) because its against his Scientology beliefs.
