A Los Angeles judge Friday sentenced Kanye West and his manager to community service in connection with an altercation involving a photographer.

According to the Associated Press, the attorney told the court West would volunteer at the American Red Cross.  In return, all misdemeanor charges will be dismissed against West.

The altercation stems from an incident that occurred at a Los Angeles airport Sept. 2008.

West and his manager Don Crawley were caught on tape taking a camera from a photographer and crashing it on the floor.

Whitney Houston performs in Germany

Whitney Houston

When pop singer Whitney Houston performed a mini-concert on “Good Morning America” last month to promote her new CD, she sounded terrible.

Her voice cracked, she was hoarse, and she couldn’t even finish some of the songs.  Many critics said Houston permanently lost her voice due to several years of drug use.

However, Whitney traveled to Germany to promote her CD this week, and she appeared on a German television show titled “Wetten Das.”

During her performance, Whitney proved the critics wrong while she sang “I Look To You.” Her voice sounded strong, she wasn’t hoarse, and she even hit some high notes toward the end of the song.

I guess Whitney really is back.  I just hope she starts giving better performances when she sings in the U.S.

A video clip of her Germany performance is posted below.
