Luck was on rapper Lil Wayne’s side again today. The rapper was not sentenced to jail today as expected.
A judge was supposed to hand down a jail sentence to Lil Wayne today for a weapons conviction, but the sentencing hearing was canceled due to a fire at the courthouse.
A fire occurred in the boiler room at Manhattan’s Criminal Court causing the lobby to fill with smoke. The remaining cases on the court docket were postponed, including Lil Wayne’s hearing.
Lil Wayne was originally supposed to be sentenced during a hearing last month, but the judge agreed to delay it so the rapper can undergo some dental work.
First it was dental work that delayed Lil Wayne’s sentencing, and now it’s a fire that ‘s causing the delay. What will it be next? A terror threat?
The sooner Lil Wayne can begin serving his sentence, the sooner he can be released and get back on stage to perform his catchy songs for all of us hip hop fans.

Hip hop star Lil Wayne’s sentencing was delayed thanks to some bad teeth.
The rapper was supposed to be sentenced Tuesday (Feb. 9) for his gun possession conviction, but a judge agreed to delay the sentencing until March 2.
Wayne’s attorney told the judge he needed some dental work done before he heads to jail. It might appear like Wayne is receiving special treatment, but if you think about it , this will save taxpayers money.
If Wayne is locked up, and he has medical issues because of his teeth, taxpayers will have to pay for his medical treatment.
Since Wayne is taking care of this issue beforehand, he will be financially responsible for his own treatment (with help from his insurance company).

R&B singer Nivea is the latest woman to officially join The Lil Wayne Baby Mamma Club (as I like to call it).
Nivea recently gave birth to the rapper’s baby boy. Nivea and Lil Wayne are no longer dating. The rapper is currently dating actress Lauren London, who gave birth to his child in September.
Lil Wayne’s first child was born more than a decade ago to his now ex-wife Antonia Carter, who goes by the stage name Toya. The ex-wife stars in the BET reality show titled “Tiny & Toya.” His second child was born in 2008 to a non-celebrity.
So far, the exclusive Lil Wayne Baby Mamma Club only has four members. You would think it would be filled with drama, but it isn’t. The ladies seem to be getting along fine.
When Nivea gave birth to Lil Wayne’s fourth child on Monday (Nov. 30), Toya and London both congratulated her by posting a message on their Twitter pages.

Rapper Lil Wayne will soon be spitting outlyrics in a jail cell.
Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to a weapon possession charge Thursday. His sentencing hearing will be in February, and he’s expected to serve one-year in jail, according to the Associated Press.
The charge stems from an incident where police found a gun on his tour bus in 2007.
Lil Wayne is smart businessman, and I’m sure he can turn this episode into something profitable.
When Lil Kim went to jail, she turned her ordeal into a reality show. That’s something Lil Wayne should consider.
Chris Brown’s new song
With assault charges behind, R&B singer Chris Brown is slowly trying to creep his way back onto the music scene.
Brown released a new song titled “I Can Transform Ya” featuring Lil Wayne . The song was released to radio stations this week. The track is from his upcoming CD titled “Graffiti.”

Actress pregnant with Lil Wayne’s baby
It’s been long rumored that actress Lauren London is pregnant with rapper Lil Wayne’s baby, but it was brushed aside as gossip.
However, Lil Wayne admitted Tuesday the rumors are true. During a radio interview with Power 106 in Los Angeles, Lil Wayne said Lauren is the mother of his unborn child.
This will be Lil Wayne’s third child and Lauren London’s first. London appeared in various films and television shows including “I Love You, Beth Cooper,” “This Christmas,” “90210″ and “Next Day Air.”
Lauren is a newcomer to the entertainment industry, and some consider her one of the most beautiful new actresses in Hollywood. It makes me wonder how Lil Wayne can attract someone as beautiful as Lauren.

Lil Wayne adds more tour dates
Rapper Lil Wayne is extending his concert tour through September. The hip hop star added 10 additional dates to his itinerary including performances in Kansas City, Milwaukee and Cincinnati.
Joing Lil Wayne on the tour are Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy, Pleasure P, Young Money Crew and Jeremih. The complete tour dates are posted below.

Rapper injures leg during concert
Newcomer rapper Drake slipped and fell on the stage during a concert with Lil Wayne. Drake injured his leg, and he might have to undergo surgery.
Drake fell while performing his hit song titled “Best I Ever Had” which is currently number 2 on the Billboard charts. The video clip of the incident is posted below.
A man calls 911 for police escort to Lil Wayne concert

Remember that song from 1990 by Public Enemy called “911 Is A Joke?”
A Florida man is learning the hard way that 911 is not really a joke after all. Twenty-year-old Michael Kruse, of Jacksonville, was arrested by police for falsely calling 911 twice, according to News 4 in Jacksonville.
What was his emergency you ask? He wanted to request a police escort to drive him 345-miles south to Miami so he can see rapper Lil Wayne’s concert.
Police said he might have been under the influence of something, but it’s unknown.
Before you all start saying this man is crazy, keep in mind, the president gets a police escort everywhere he goes. So does the vice president. Some celebrities get police escorts too.
This man probably just wated to be treated equally and get the same treatment as some other people get, regardless of his status.
Besides, Lil Wayne is a great rapper and performer. I’m sure his concert was on and poppin. Can’t really blame him for trying to attend the concert by any means necessary–even if that means calling 911.

Lil Wayne is releasing a rock album
Rap star Lil Wayne is leaving his hip hop skills at home.
His new album “Rebirth” will be in stores April 7, and it will be a rock music album. The first single “Prom Queen” will be out Jan. 27.
He has dominated the hip hop radio stations and charts during the past few years, so it’s probably not challenging for him anymore.
So, I guess he’s trying to take over the rock and roll genre as well.
Last year, he performed at a country music awards show with Kid Rock.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to release a country album soon.
I can’t blame him for being for being ambitious.

Lil Wayne is having a baby
Rapper Lil Wayne will soon become a Lil Daddy.
While accepting a trophy at the BET Hip Hop awards, Lil Wayne told the crowd that he is expecting a son anytime soon.
No one knew he was getting ready to have a baby, and no one knows who the mother is either.
If he’s going to mention that he is having kid, the least he could have done is tell us who the baby mamma is.
The BET Hip Hop awards will run Thursday on the BET network.

Lil Wayne might become overexposed
Lil Wayne has literally been everywhere during the past five months.
He’s been at every award show collecting his trophies, his song “Lollipop” has been in heavy rotation on every single radio station in the country, he’s been on countless magazine covers, videos, tv shows and has made appearances on other musican’s songs.
He will even appear on rocker Fall Out Boy’s upcoming album.
He even has a sports blog that is featured on the ESPN Web site. On that blog, he mentions how he is busy in the studio recording another album as well as a mix tape, which means he will be releasing two CD’s soon.
I understand that he is the most popular musician right now, and he has to capitalize on his popularity before it ends, and I respect him for that.
However, I believe he might be headed for overexposure, and the public will eventually get tired of seeing and hearing him.
I think after his latest CD “Tha Carter III” dies down, he should consider taking a few months away from the spotlight, and let the public get a break from seeing him everyday.
Lil Wayne runs the risk of becoming overexposed, a term used to describe celebrities who are always in your face, and then the public resents them because they see them too much. For example: Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Angelina Jolie.
Lil Wanye should chill out for a minute or two, and give the public some time to miss him.

A mother requests Lil Wayne’s Lollipop for daughter’s 5th birthday
I was listening to the radio, and a mother called in to the station on the air to request a song.
She requested “Lollipop” by Lil Wayne, and she said it was for her daughter’s birthday. But here’s the kicker–her daughter just turned 5-years-old.
(gasp) Yes, the woman wanted her 5-year-old daughter to hear “Lollipop” for her birthday. I was stunned.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this song, the lyrics to “Lollipop” are basically about a woman who wants to perform a certain sexual act on a man.
And this is the song that this mother wanted to request for her daughter’s birthday.
Is she trying to train her daughter to be promiscous when she gets older?
I think maybe this woman should have requested Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers instead.

Lil Wayne postpones concert for emergency surgery
My colleague at The Oklahoman Brandy McDonnell reported that Lil Wayne has postponed his Tulsa concert at the BOK Center.

The rapper was scheduled to perform tonight at the BOK Center, but backed out of the concert claiming that he had to undergo emergency dental surgery. The new date will be Oct. 11.
This doesn’t surprise me at all. As you can see from the photo above, Lil Wayne is notorious for blinging up his teeth.
He’s had so much work done on his teeth. They change shapes, colors and sizes at least once a week. No wonder he is having problems with them.

Michael Phelps on Saturday Night Live
Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps hosted “Saturday Night Live” during the weekend. He was featured in various comedy skits, and I just have one thing to say—Michael needs to stick to swimming.
The skits weren’t very funny whatsoever, but I don’t know if Phelps is to blame or should we blame the writers. During some of the scenes it sounded like he was reading off of a teleprompter word for word, which he probably was.
On the other hand, it probably was good for NBC to put Phelps on the show despite his lackluster acting skills. Phelps is popular sports figures in the country especially after the Olympics, and I’m a lot of people watched the show that night which translates into big ratings.
The highlight of the show was the performances of the current king of rap Lil Wayne. He performed his hits “Lollipop” and “Get Money.”
Another notable moment was the opening of the show when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler portrayed Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton during a press conference. Tina Fey’s portrayal of Sarah Palin was right on.
Barack Obama was supposed to make an appearance on the show, but he canceled because of Hurricane Ike.
Michael Phelps’ mother and William Shatner made a brief appearance on the show. I guess if Obama can’t make it on the show, the next best thing is to have Phelps’ mother and William Shatner….not really

Michael Phelps hosting “Saturday Night Live”
Since he won eight gold medals at the Olympics in Beijing, Michael Phelps has been living the life. He’s been attending multiple red carpet events and award shows, and he’s even been living it up on the Las Vegas party scene.
Now, he will be hosting Saturday Night Live tomorrow night. I’m always interested when a non-entertainer tries to host Saturday Night Live.
I remember watching Al Gore, Rudy Giuliani, LeBron James and NBC News host Brian Williams when they did the SNL gig.
While those episodes weren’t very amusing, I get the feeling that Michael Phelps will be very humorous on the show.
Also, Barack Obama is scheduled to make a guest appearance in one of the sketches. Should be interesting.
