Steven Tyler hospitalized after stage fall
Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler was airlifted to the hospital Thursday (Aug. 6) after he fell off the stage during a concert in South Dakota.
According to the Rapid City Journal, the 61-year-old singer fell while the group was performing their song “Love In An Elevator.”
The video clip shows Tyler trying to spin around like Michael Jackson, then he fell off the stage.
Tyler suffered minor neck, head and shoulder injuries. A video clip of the incident is posted below.
Mischa Barton released from psych ward
Actress Mischa Barton has left the crazy house.
Barton was hospitalized at a psychiatric facility earlier this month at Cedars -Sinai Medical Center.
Los Angeles police responded to an unknown incident at Barton’s home and they placed her in the psych ward after they determined she presented a clear danger to herself or others.
Barton’s spokesman said she is “out of the hospital and continuing to improve in anticipation of resuming production as planned.”
Barton is currently on the CW television show “The Beautiful Life.” She became famous when she starred as Marissa Cooper on the television show “The OC” from 2003 to 2006.
Although she was released, her cast mates should still sleep with one eye open whenever she’s around. I can tell she still has some craziness in her.

Beastie Boys member diagnosed with cancer
Bestie Boys member Adam Yauch says he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in a salivary gland and a lymph node.
The band members will now cancel their tour dates and postpone their new CD release titled “Hot Sauce Committee Part 1.”
In a video statement posted on the group’s Web site, Yauch said “About two months ago I started feeling a little lump in my throat. I started think I should talk to my doctor, and he sent me to a specialist, and they did tests, and I actually have a form of cancer.”
“The good news is that they did scans of my whole body and it’s only localized this one place, and it’s not in a place that effects my voice, so that’s nice,” he said with a laugh. “This is something that’s very treatable in most cases, they’re able to completely get rid of it and people don’t have continuing problems with it and it’s not anywhere else in my body.”
The Beastie Boys formed in 1981. Their most notable song is “Fight For Your Right” from their album “Licensed To Ill.”
Mischa Barton enters a psychiatric ward
Actress Mischa Barton has checked into the crazy house.
Barton was placed in a psychiatric facility at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by the Los Angeles Police Department.
No one knows exactly what happened, but police received a call from Barton’s home July 15, according to Access Hollywood.
When they arrived, police determined Barton presented a danger to herself or others, so she was transported to the center.
I hope she gets better and makes a full mental recovery from whatever she’s dealing with. But I always knew she was crazy, and this proves my point.
Barton became famous when she starred as Marissa Cooper on the television show ”The O.C” from 2003 to 2006.
Harry Potter actor had the swine flu

Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, 20, was stricken with the infamous swine flu. Grint played Potter’s friend Ron Weasley in all of the Harry Potter films.
His representative said he missed few days of filming because of the swine flu. However, he has now recovered well enough to attend the premiere of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” on Tuesday in London.
His doctor says he’s no longer contagious. If I was Daniel Radcliffe or any of the other actors, I would stay far away from him on the red carpet during the premiere.
Although his doctor said he’s not contagious anymore, I would still avoid him just to be on the safe side.
Angelina Jolie injured on movie set
Angelina Jolie was transported to the hospital after she injured herself on the set of her new movie titled “Salt.”
According to TMZ, the actress was performing a stunt when she hit her head on something. The actress is expected to be okay and will return to the movie set soon in Long Island whenever she recovers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Jennifer Aniston put a curse on Angelina to cause the head-hitting accident as a way to get even because Angelina stole Jennifer’s man (Brad Pitt) several years ago.

Frankie Avalon became ill before his American Idol performance
If you watched Wednesday’s episode of American Idol, you saw singer Frankie Avalon perform his song “Venus.”
Avalon told Access Hollywood that 20 minutes before the show began, an ambulance was called for him because he started shaking.
Avalon said he got the shakes because the only thing he ate during the entire day was a bag of red candy.
Avalon regained his composure, and he performed on the show, and no one ever knew anything was wrong.
Hmmm. It sounds to me like Frankie is on that anorexic diet that Mary Kate and Ashley Olson are on. No one can survive on only one bag of red candy.

Kelly Osbourne discusses her drug use

In the latest issue of People magazine, Kelly Osbourne opens up about her past drug use for which she went to rehab three times.
Here is an excerpt from the article courtesy of People magazine.
“I had my tonsils taken out at age 13, and they gave me liquid Vicodin. I found, when I take this, people like me. I’m having fun, I’m not getting picked on. It became a confidence thing.”
“I knew if I didn’t get help, I would die. I’m getting a second chance at my career,” she says, “and I want to be present for it.”
Good for her for realizing she had a problem. She’s only 24 years old, so it’s not too late for her to turn her life around.

Actress Natasha Richardson has died
Actress Natasha Richardson has died after being treated for brain injury after skiing accident in Montreal.
Richardson was taking private ski lessons for beginners when she fell and injured her head.
Richardson, 45, is married to actor Liam Neeson.
She played in the films “Maid in Manhattan” with Jennifer Lopez, “The Parent Trap” with Lindsay Lohan and “Waking up in Reno” with Patrick Swayze and Billy Bob Thornton.
Her family released a statement that said “Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

Jessica Lange hospitalized after a fall
Actress Jessica Lange is a little on the clumsy side this week.
The actress has been hospitalized after she fell on a set of stairs at her home in Minnesota.
She suffered bruised ribs, a broken collarbone and a small cut on her forehead, her publicist said in a statement.
She is expected to make full recovery.

Don Imus has cancer
Controversial talk show host Don Imus announced that he is battling prostate cancer.
The 68-year-old made the announcement March 16 on his radio show.
He said was trying to determine whether he should make the news public, but he knew he would have to take some time off work to undergo treatment.
Imus was fired from MSNBC in 2007 after uttering insensitive racial comments about the Rutgers women’s basketball team.

Usher’s wife released from hospital
R&B singer Usher’s wife Tameka Raymond was released from the hospital after recovering for 11 days from cardiac arrest.
Raymond went to to Brazil to undergo a liposuction procedure, when she had a reaction to the anesthesia which resulted in a cardiac arrest.
Doctors revived her within one minute and she was put into an induced coma.
She recently had a second child with Usher, and she hasn’t dropped her baby weight yet, so I guess she wanted to lose it fast through liposuction.

Usher’s wife suffered cardiac arrest
R&B singer Usher’s wife was hospitalized earlier this week in Brazil due to complications from cosmetic surgery.
The doctor’s representative revealed Tuesday (Feb. 12) exactly what those complications were. He said the wife Tameka Raymond suffered from cardiac arrest while under anesthesia to prepare for liposuction.
She was then put in a coma until she recovered. As a result of the incident, the liposuction was never actually performed.
The death of Kanye West’s mother (who died from liposuction complications) serves as a reminder of how dangerous this procedure can be. It should only be done on people who are morbidly obese.
Usher’s wife was not morbidly obese. In fact, she was skinny.
She just gave birth to their second child together and she hadn’t lost all of her baby weight, so I guess she tried to take a shortcut and have liposuction to get rid of the excess baby weight.
Not a good idea.

Usher’s wife suffering from plastic surgery complications
Access Hollywood is reporting that R&B singer Usher’s wife Tameka Foster is experiencing complications due to plastic surgery in Brazil.
It’s unknown which body part she was having plastic on.
Usher was scheduled to perform at a pre-Grammy party tonight, but he canceled to fly to Brazil to be with his wife.
Many people assume plastic surgery is harmless, but remember Kanye West’s mother died last year because of plastic surgery complications.
No other details are available at this time, but hopefully his wife will be okay.
The couple married in August 2007, and they have two sons together.

Ashlee Simpson defends Jessica Simpson’s weight gain
The paparazzi and celebrity journalists have been dogging Jessica Simpson during the past week or so because of her apparent weight gain.
Her sister and her fitness training are coming to her defense.
Ashlee Simpson wrote a statement on her blog that said “I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure.”
“All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard. How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Now can we focus on the things that really matter.”
I agree with every word Ashlee said. Yes, Jessica gained a few pounds, but so what? She’s still skinny to me. She might not weigh 100 pounds anymore, but that’s okay.
Her boyfriend Tony Romo doesn’t seem to care about weight, so no one else should either. Besides, everyone’s weight fluctuates from time to time, including mine.

Bone, Thugs and Harmony rapper was beaten up and robbed.
Bone, Thugs and Harmony rapper Bizzy Bone was beaten up and robbed. 
According to the Los Angeles Times, Bizzy Bone was confronted by several men at a hotel who beat him, choked him and stole his jewelry.
One person named Marlo Jones was arrested in connection with the incident.
The ironic part is that Jones was an employee of a Los Angeles anti-gang organization.
He was hired by the Los Angeles Police Department to help decrease the number of gangs.
It’s obvious the LAPD should be more cautious about who they hire to help reduce gang violence.

Kevin Costner was hospitalized
Actor Kevin Costner was taken to the hospital this week after he became sick while driving. He called 911 while behind the wheel complaining about being light-headed.
His spokesperson said he released from the hospital “after tests found that everything was normal.”
So, I guess that means he called 911 even though nothing wrong with him?

Tony Romo collapsed in the shower
Dallas Cowboys quarterback (and Jessica Simpon’s boyfriend) Tony Romo collapsed in the locker room shower following a football game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to ESPN, medical workers brought in a stretcher, but Romo walked out on his own. It is believed that Romo is suffering from a rib injury that occurred during the game.
Romo is a trooper though. After he collapsed, he still participated in a press conference even though he needed assistance to make it to the podium.
The Cowboys lost to the Eagles. Maybe Romo was so upset by the loss that he fainted. It’s hard for me to believe that he would have passed out if his team had won the game.

Chyna hospitalized for being too drunk
Former pro wrestler Chyna was hospitalized during the weekend for being too drunk. Apparently she had way too many birthday drinks.
According to TMZ, the former wrestler (whose real name is Joanie Lauer) was taken to a hospital after she became overly intoxicated on her birthday. Her party friends found her passed out Saturday with cuts on her arm, and called 911.
After all is said and done, I must admit, Chyna sure knows how to throw a party.

Michael Jackson says he doesn’t have a lung disease
Tabloid rumors have always swirled around Michael Jackson during the past 40 years or so.
But the latest rumor has gained some legs, and it has been reported on most of the mainstream legitimate news stations.
Many news organizations are reporting that Michael has a rare respiratory disease, and he is in need of a lung transplant.
However, a spokesperson for Michael claims that the news reports are false.
I’m not sure how this story spiraled out of control, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Michael had something to do with this as a publicity stunt in order to get some attention like he always does.
He’s always been an attention-seeker. That’s why he changed his face, slept in a hyberbaric chamber and always wears that surgical mask. And I’m not even going to mention the little boys.

Country singer Mindy Mcready attempted suicide
Country singer Mindy McCready seems to be getting worse and worse. The musician recently tried to commit suicide by slitting her wrists.
She was later rushed to the hospital, and she survived. McCready has been in and out of jail and rehab during the past couple of years.
This is the second time she tried to commit suicide. The first time was back in 2005 when she tried to make her overdose on pills.
Hopefully, she can put the pieces of her life back together. McCready became famous in 1996 with her country hit “Guys Do It All The Time.”

Full House star Jodie Sweetin loses custody of her daughter
A judge ruled this week that former “Full House” child star Jodie Sweetin will not be allowed to see her infant daughter without supervision.
According to TMZ, her estranged husband accused her of driving intoxicated while she had the baby in the vehicle.
Sweetin is a recovering meth addict who recently had a relapse, according to a doctor who testified in court.
Hopefully, Sweetin can recover and kick this habit for good so she can be a mother to her child.
Sweetin played Stephanie Tanner on “Full House” from 1987 to 1995.

Full House star Candace Cameron lost weight
Full House star Candace Cameron is on the cover of this week’s US Weekly magazine talking about how she lost weight.
Before I continue, let me say this. I was shocked to see that she was on the cover of this popular celebrity magazine. She’s not really a celebrity anymore, but I guess if you lose weight then US Weekly will put you on the cover.
She lost 22 pounds with no surgery and no personal trainer.
She said, “When I was 16, I filmed an episode of Full House where my family goes to Disney World. I remember putting on baggy overalls just to hide my stomach. When I watched it, I was pretty disappointed and bummed out looking at myself. I didn’t feel good about my own body.”
She’s says she’s now 110 pounds and 5-foot-2 inches. Her heaviest weight was 132, even though I don’t consider that heavy whatsoever.
Congratulations to Cameron for losing the weight and for making the cover of US Weekly. This will probably be the only the time she will ever be put on the cover of a major magazine again.

Phylicia Rashad is the new Jenny Craig spokeswoman
Clair Huxtable is about to follow in the footsteps of Queen Latifah and Kirstie Alley.
Actress Phylicia Rashad will be the new spokeswoman for Jenny Craig. Since the 60-year-old actress has put on a few pounds since her “Cosby Show” days, she’s trying to shed the weight.
Jenny Craig did wonders for Kirstie Alley and Queen Latifah, so I’m sure Phylicia will be successful with the program too. Besides, there’s nothing Mrs. Huxtable can’t do.
Now that Jenny Craig has a news spokeswoman, does that mean we won’t see Queen Latifah on the commercials anymore?

Oprah Winfrey said she weighs 200 pounds
In an interview with her own publication O Magazine, Talk show host Oprah Winfrey reveals that she now tips the scale at 200 pounds.
She said, “I’m embarrassed. I can’t believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I’m still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, ‘How did I let this happen again?”
Oprah said she’s gained 40 pounds during the past two years. Oprah will talk about her weight on her show that will air Jan. 5.
I guess Oprah is struggling with what alot of people are struggling with. People think it should be easy for Oprah to keep off the weight because she’s wealthy, she has a personal chef and a personal trainer.
However, I disagree. Oprah Winfrey is a billionaire. Therefore, she can afford to buy more food than everyone else.
Now that the economy is terrible shape, and people are losing their jobs, they probably won’t be able to afford to buy a lot of food for themselves.
But Oprah will always have plenty of money, so there will never be a food shortage in her refrigerator. On the bright side, Oprah was recently placed number one on the The Hollywood Reporter’s 100 Most Powerful Women list.
She might have gained 40 pounds, but at least she’s still powerful.
