Donny Osmond critical of Lady Gaga, Beyonce video
Donny Osmond is the latest celebrity who has been critical of Lady Gaga’s and Beyonce’s music video for “Telephone.”
On his radio show, Osmond said
“I’m all for freedom of speech and against any form of censorship, but all I know is that I’m a parent and I’m upset about this. I wouldn’t want my child to watch this video. Would you? What do you think? Should these two extremely gifted female role models for millions of young girls, maybe, have given a little more thought to the effect it might have on their core audience?”
The music video shows Lady Gaga wearing scantily clad clothes, and she kisses a woman while she’s locked up in jail. It also shows Lady Gaga and Beyonce killing customers at a diner by putting poison in their food.
If Osmond doesn’t want his children to watch the video, then don’t let them watch it. Just like if people don’t want their children to watch the violence in horror movies or soft-core porn on Cinemax, then don’t let them watch it. It’s as simple as that. No need to raise a big fuss over it.
Earlier this week, R&B singer India Arie also criticized the video. Click the link to see Arie’s comments.
Do you think the music video is inappropriate? Answer the poll question below.
DNA test confirm Beyonce’s dad Matthew Knowles has child with mistress
It’s official. Beyonce’s dad and manager Matthew Knowles is the father of his mistress’ child.
A DNA test indicated Matthew is the father of Alexsandra Wright’s son named Nixon, according to TMZ and the newspaper in Matthew’s hometown Houston Chronicle.
Last year, Wright filed a paternity suit against Knowles, and she alleges they had an 18-month affair while he was married to Beyonce’s mother Tina.
Beyonce’s mother Tina filed for divorce last year. Matthew has served as Beyonce’s manager throughout her career, and he’s helped elevate her to superstar status.
It seems like this situation is similar to John Edwards’ affair because a child was created as a result of infidelity.
At least Matthew and his mistress didn’t make a sex tape (that we know of) like Edwards’ and Rielle Hunter did.
India Arie critical of Lady Gaga, Beyonce video
Millions of fans around the world loved the new Lady Gaga and Beyonce music video titled “Telephone.” But R&B singer India Arie is no fan of the video.
Arie posted a series of tweets on her Twitter page, and she was critical of the music video because it had questionable content. Her tweets are posted below.
For someone who doesn’t like the video, she sure did spend a lot of time talking about the video.
“Don’t be offended this is all MY opinion… Am I the only one who thinks the “Telephone” video is going a bit too far?
“I’m not referring to the abstract nature of the video … I’m talking about the IMAGERY – the unspoken back story, the language the message.”
“I agree gaga is being her image .. I dig her creative mind But still … There’s a such thing as socially irresponsible… I’m just sayin.”
“Its not long before somebody does a straight NAKED video. Not like Alanis morrisette “thank you india” like NAKED dancing around. LOL hahaha”
“Let’s be CLEAR! I know it gaga M.O. – I don’t live under a rock. And I get that a lot of work put into it. I’m talking social responsibility.”
“There’s an artist ever 10 years who pushes the envelope … but its bout to fall off the Table. When is it too far?”
“I respect the creative mind but disagree with the “choices” as a dish meant to be served for mass consumption”
“Crazy to me that the Dark, underbelly, so shock at all cost thing is a TREND like asymetrical hair and big shoulder jackets .Slippery slope!”
Jay-Z and Beyonce perform at Alicia Keys concert
Fans who attended Alicia Keys’ concert March 18 were treated to a surprise. Jay-Z and Beyonce performed during the concert.
Keys started singing “Put It In A Love Song.” Then, Beyonce unexpectedly emerged on stage to join her in the performance at Madison Square Garden, which caused fans to scream.
The concert was part of Key’s multi-city tour. The duet appears on Keys’ album “The Element of Freedom.”
Later on in the show, Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z also made an unexpected appearance on stage with Keys. He performed “Empire State of Mind,” which is his popular duet with Keys.
A short video clip of Keys and Beyonce performing during the concert is posted below.

Jay-Z and Beyonce at basketball game
Celebrity power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce had front-row seats together in Dallas during an NBA basketball game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The couple looked like they were having a good time at the game. Jay-Z and Beyonce usually shy away from affection in public because they want to keep their relationship private, and that’s understandable. But it was good to see them photographed together at the game.
During Beyonce’s acceptance speech at the Grammy’s a few weeks ago, she said “I love you” to Jay-Z. That was unusual because they typically refuse to show any physical or verbal affection in public.
In fact, for a long time, they refused to publicly acknowledge they were in a relationship or even married.
During an interview with Access Hollywood, Beyonce said “He was shocked. He was just like ‘What did you say?’ I was so happy, I could’ve said anything. That’s why I ran off the stage. I just looked up, and he was the first face I saw. And I was like “What did I just do?’ No, I didn’t just say that.”
Keeping their relationship private seems to be a successful formula for the happy couple. They’ve managed to stay together when so many Hollywood relationships fail due to the pitfalls of fame.

Alicia Keys, Beyonce film video in Brazil
R&B singers Alicia Keys and Beyonce are in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, shooting a music video for their duet titled “Put It In A Love Song.”
Photos from the video shoot are posted below. Click the images to enlarge them.
The video is shot in the same area where Michael Jackson filmed his video for “They Don’t Care About Us.”
Is Pink mocking Beyonce?
It looks like Rock/pop singer Pink was mocking Beyonce during a recent concert performance.
In 2006, Pink released the song and music video titled “Stupid Girls.” In the song and music video, Pink makes fun of celebrities like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Mary Kate Olsen, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson for acting like stupid girls.
But during a concert performance in Liverpool, Pink performed “Stupid Girls,” and she starts to imitate Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” dance while singing the song.
Is she now adding Beyonce to her list of stupid girls? The video clip is posted below. Fast forward the clip to the 30-second mark.
Beyonce will take a break in 2010

(AP Photo/Michael Sawyer)
Apparently, Beyonce has been reading my blog, and she’s starting to take my advice.
As part of my New Year’s resolution for celebrities blog post, I said Beyonce needs to take a break in 2010 because she’s been in our faces nonstop since the late 1990s. (Click here to read what I said).
Now, Beyonce is saying she will actually take a real break this year.
In an interview with USA Today, Beyonce said “I’ve always worked hard, but I feel like I worked harder this past year than I have since I was just starting out. I just had all these great opportunities. It’s definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries. I’d like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again. I want to go to restaurants, maybe take a class, see some movies and Broadway shows. And spend time with my nephew. He’s a wonderful kid, amazing, so smart. And I spoil him, so it’s a lot of work. He’s a 24-hour job.”
Good for you Beyonce. I’m glad you’re listening to me.
Beyonce to release new album in 2010

(AP Photo/Koji Sasahara)
Beyonce recently announced plans for an upcoming album. While performing during a concert in the United Kingdom, Beyonce told the crowd “This is my last show for this tour in the UK, so hopefully, I’ll see you all in a year with a new album,” according to Billboard magazine.
Beyonce’s producer Rodney Jerkins also posted a message on his Twitter page saying he is creating new music for Beyonce’s new album.
I’m a Beyonce fan. No one can deny her talent, but I think it’s time for her to take a break from the public eye. During the past two years, she has released multiple albums, dominated the radio airwaves, appeared in movies, performed on just about every concert stage around the world and appeared on the cover of nearly every magazine known to man.
In 2008 and 2009, she released “I Am… Sasha Fierce,” “Above and Beyonce,” “I Am… Sasha Fierce: Deluxe Edition” and “I Am… Yours.” Not to mention the number of television appearances that she’s made.
It’s time for Beyonce to take a short break before she becomes overexposed, and the public will get tired of seeing her. We need to miss Beyonce, and we can’t miss her if she never takes a break.

Beyonce’s new DVD, duet with Lady Gaga, TV special

Beyonce is probably the hardest working woman in the music industry.
During the past year-and-a-half, she’s promoted her latest CD, filmed seven music videos, embarked on a world tour, starred in a movie and made countless television appearances around the world.
You would think she needed a vacation right? Not so. She still has a host of projects on her plate before the year ends.
Beyonce is releasing a DVD on Nov. 23 titled “I Am…Yours” An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas.” Also, on Nov. 23, the “I Am…Sasha Fierce: Deluxe Edition” will be in stores.
The deluxe edition features two new songs including “Video Phone,” which is a duet with Lady Gaga. The video will be released Thursday (Nov. 5).
She also has a Thanksgiving special that will air Nov. 26 on ABC.

Now, she pulled a child who has cancer on stage with her and serenaded her with the hit song “Halo” during a concert in Sidney, Australia.

President Obama says Kanye West is a jackass
The controversy involving Kanye West’s and Taylor Swift’s incident at the MTV Video Music Awards has penetrated the walls of the White House.
During an interview with CNBC, President Barack Obama called Kanye a “jackass” when asked about his thoughts on the ingredient.
He said “I thought that was really inappropriate. He’s a jackass.”
Although I agree Kanye was a “jackass” for rudely interrupting Taylor Swift’s speech, I was surprised the president of the United States weighed in on this issue.
Since he’s juggling health care, fixing our terrible economy and managing a war overseas, who knew he had time to fit the Taylor Swift and Kanye West discussion into his busy schedule.
In Obama’s defense, he made the comment BEFORE the interview actually began, and he was unaware that it was going to be recorded. He assumed it was off-the-record.
TMZ obtained a leaked version of the audiotape, and the off-the-record transcript is posted below.
Interviewer: Were your girls as hacked off as mine were that Kanye gave Taylor Swift the Joe Wilson treatment?
Obama: “I thought that was really inappropriate. You know it was like she’s getting an award. Why are you butting in? I hear you. I agree with you.”
Interviewer: So does that count as the first question?
Obama: “The young lady seems like a perfectly nice person. She’s getting her award. What’s he doing up there? He’s a jackass. No, now this… all this stuff, I’m assuming all this stuff. Where’s the pool? Come on guys. Cut the president some slack. I got a lot of other stuff on my plate. Yeah. Cause I remember last time it was the fly thing.”
Interviewer: No that worked out well for you. You were a ninja.
Obama: Except PETA.
Jay Leno interviews Kanye West
Hip hop star Kanye West appeared as guest Monday night on the debut of Jay Leno’s new prime time show.
Leno asked Kanye about the MTV Video Music Awards incident where he snatched the microphone and interrupted country singer Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.
Jay Leno also asked about what Kanye’s deceased mother would have thought about the incident. The clip is posted below.
Kelly Clarkson slams Kanye West
Pop singer Kelly Clarkson is the latest celebrity to have harsh words toward Kanye West after the incident with Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Clarkson wrote a lengthy blog on her Web site criticizing Kanye, and she used profanities too. The full blog is posted below.
Dear Kanye,
“What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like sh*t. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shi**y things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, a**hole ways.”
“It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my a**hole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you.”
“The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??”
“I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an a**hole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being.”
“On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!
Taylor Swift, you outsell him ….that’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!”
From Kelly Clarkson
Beyonce lets Taylor Swift finish acceptance speech
Beyonce performed an act of kindness during the MTV Video Music Awards. As you remember, Kanye West rudely interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech because he felt like Taylor didn’t deserve to win. (click here to watch the video clip).
However, toward the end of the show when Beyonce won an award, Beyonce let Taylor come on stage to speak and finish giving her acceptance speech.
The video clip is posted below.
Kanye West disrespects Taylor Swift at MTV awards
This was probably the most disrespectful moment in the history of award shows. Country singer Taylor walked on stage to accept her MTV award for best female video.
While Taylor was giving an acceptance speech, Kanye West walked on stage, grabbed her microphone, and said Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. Kanye was disappointed because Taylor won.
It was highly disrespectful of Kanye to interrupt Taylor’s acceptance speech. It was Taylor’s moment to shine, and Kanye ruined it.
Beyonce has plenty of MTV awards sitting at home in her trophy case. It’s okay if Taylor wins one trophy. The video clip of the incident is posted below.
