I don’t think you really understood my comment Jen, I’m not saying shield your kids from it. Show them an alternative, tell them how unrealistic or unsavory it is. Smarten your kids up about having good body image, safe sex, the works. Most kids aren’t idiots. And if they are, it’s usually because of environmental factors in their primary socialization process i.e. parents. NOT the media. I only really have myself and people I knew as a kid to go on, but I NEVER felt bad about myself because of the media, NEVER was compelled to have sex because of the media and the foremost factor in influencing my values, was my parents. And for the record, I don’t know what kind of sleazy supermarkets you go to, but the only thing catching the attention of children in my local one is the strategically placed low-down chocolates which they sneak into shopping trolleys when their mothers aren’t looking.

I like the video myself. So what if Gaga kisses a girl, we are living in 2010, not the 1800′s folks. If you have kids, and don’t want them to see this video, it is not like they are playing the unedited version on TV. It is only available on the internet. AMEN TO WHAT SARA WROTE. I agree with her 100%.

People have to learn about life sometime. Jen, our TV shows are nothing like TV in Europe. Try living there and raising your kids.

People in this country are so conservative, it makes me sick.

You sound very young & probably do not have children. There is so much garbage out there that even the most restrictive parent has a difficult time shielding their kids from it. Society sexualizes everything. Stand in a supermarket checkout line lately? Kids are surrounded by it. I know. Maybe they shouldn’t go to the supermarket! @@ or maybe, just maybe the entertainment industry should start to think just a little bit about the crap they are putting out there.

Either you take some control over what your “children” watch or you dont. Crappy video, crappy song I miss the days of real music videos!

I personally don’t think children are Lady Gaga’s target audience. I remember waking up at 6am to watch music videos on television as a child and recall seeing women being treated as sex objects as well as violence, this was 20 years ago now. There was violence and sex in children’s cartoons when my mother was a child and that was 50 years ago, samurai’s having bloody fights, men putting women down and lets not forget the racism. Fact of the matter is, regulate what your child is exposed to. If you don’t want them watching this type of stuff on television, child lock your T.V., the computer child lock that too, listen to family friendly radio stations and live your life how you want to. But allow people artistic freedom. Of course we want children to have a say in our society and we provide them with wonderful, safe and fun music and shows such as Yo Gabba Gabba. Sex, drugs and rock and roll have been part of music, art and film for the past 60 years and will continue to be. Without you Baby Boomers and your radical views none of this would have occurred. So thank you! Now people don’t have to be ashamed if they are gay, black or a woman. I think if you are ashamed of sex then there is something wrong with you. Sex has always been a part of human culture. I love looking at classical paintings depicting the female body sexually, they are a thing of beauty. Are you saying we should burn them? I love reading modern classics depicting drug abuse and teenagers with unfortunate behaviours, for example Catcher in the Rye. Should we ban that book from all libraries? I think you really need to look at human culture throughout the years and see it for what it really is. Yes Lady Gaga is a bit over the top. She is just as much a role model as the drugged up rockers of the 60′s and 70′s. Make it your own responsibility to show your children great women role models and don’t leave it all up to Lady Gaga. It isn’t her job to teach your kids right from wrong.

Why is anyone attacking Osmond for sharing his opinion why justifying someone elses. If Lady Gaga and Beyonce can voice their opinion, howbeit twisted, why slam Osmond? Osmond is looking out for children. What’s the harm in that? So what if he’s a Christian or not? Does athiest not look out for children? If he was hindu would it matter? Wiccan? I agree that it is a parent’s responsibility to look out for the best intrest of the children. However, most parents work. Parents cannot be with their children 24/7. In an ideal world yes, but not in the real one. Yes, young children look up to them, Beyonce was on Sesame Street and now she’s half naked killing people in a video, or was that Sasha Fierce? Lady Gaga…well…just look at her. Sex sells. Children take a back seat in this society just like the elderly. Everyone can do whatever they want in the name of free speech and freedom. The sad part is in the name of free speech, it’s ok to hurt and offend someone else. Oh and if you’re Christian, just shut up and be quiet because you are offensive, you offend everyone around you and you need to be written out of society all together. All your talking about God offends everyone around you. You will sit by and shut up while your children are taught tolerance for everything and everyone, and learn about other Gods and other ways of thinking. You will not allow your children to share their views in school or they will be suspended. You will not discuss your views in the work place or you also will be suspended, fired, or sued. Sex sells. Get over it!!!

Sex, Drugs, Nudity, Death? What is the world coming to when even pop stars don’t care about some values. Kids are growing up nowadays thinking all this stuff is normal. I am not religious but I think this is overboard for a music video. Lady Gaga and Beyonce. Why don’t you make some porn and leave the mainstream to someone that has some common sense. I encourage people not to buy this rubbish.

At least he has the backbone to go against the prevailing attitude of “anything goes” in our society!

Our youth is basically being told that vulgarity and shocking behavior are the norm, and anyone who challenges that is crucified.

IF IT is NOT religion than it is racism that people always use as an excuse to judge another person… I have a 19 year old daughter who loves this Lady GAGA….I actually like the BEAT to some of her music – I will not not judge, BUT I don’t believe that the world will be a better place because of her so called “talent”… I believe the future for the music industry will be soft porn by 2012… If the world does not end that year…I love to have fun… trust me – I love sex – but fun and sex have backfired on me.. and they will on Lady GAGA someday too….

I’m not religious at all, but I agreed with Osmond’s comment. Methinks you’re a tad paranoid there, FlexSF. I mean, my gosh, the dude just sounded like a concerned parent. Maybe his kids like Lady Gaga and he was shocked to see the video they were watching. My little sister likes Lady Gaga’s music. But I don’t think she’s mature enough to watch that video. I agree with him… and I don’t think this is about religion or censorship.

More than healthcare reform or financial reform we need moral reform. Americas biggest threat comes from guys like “Dave” and “FlexSF” who are so addicted to the sexual chemical rush of endorphins and hormones they get when they watch this stuff that they can’t even recognize how it rots them from the inside out.
Go read some of the scientific articles about the chemical addiction and mental destruction of the mind that occurs from pornography and violence. I feel for you guys, you’ve been swept up in this flood of filth that we’ve allowed in our country and like any addict you are slowly being destroyed and kept from reaching your full potential. Eventually, there is a resounding negative impact from the dehumanizing of the addicted person on society, that hopefully we as society will, like we did with alcohol and drugs, start to regulate and educate people so as to save others from getting caught in your trap.
