I have today studied India Arie critical of Lady Gaga, Beyonce video on your site and many other pages. I am not going to remark on what everybody else has already sounded out as several remarks are strange, but I do think they should input on your coverage of the subject. I think if you have looked back in the last 10 years or so you will see that no other pop star has pushed any envelope like Lagy gaga has, as everything is mainstream these days i think lady gaga is really pushing her talent and i thank god that an artist like her has come along and has stepped up and she gets more creative with herself and with her videos musically, and has more guts and glory than the rest of the musicians today. If you dont like the video…..well then dont watch it, its as simple as that….u ave a remote….now use it.

I think that anybody who creates or directs a video is talented…all these about nudity…nudity is nature…ppl see naked ppl all the time ppl have sex all the time…its nature…social responsibility…what social responsibility…this is a dog eat dog world…nobody cares about nobody in the end…im really disappointed in india arie…i always looked up to you because you were open-minded, what’s going on?

While I appreciate the opinion, I think that there’s something much deeper going on with Gaga. I don’t think like most pop artists that she is trying to sell an image. I think she’s trying to destroy it. I don’t telephone is meant to be entertaining or shocking, but an attempt to expose the ugly underbelly of society.
You can sing about how bad consumption is, or you can accept it’s power, become it with the attempt to destroy it.
I think Dave Chappelle tried the same thing with racism.

Its interesting how people claim to ‘love’ someone they have never met, I think the song is very good but the video is blatant desensitization, the imagery for her younger fans is too much! There is pushin the boundary and pushin your body to sell records. Eventually once we are all used to seeing a bit of t & a here and there, there will be a full naked video and we wont even bat an eyelid…simply because the artist is only showing their so-called ‘creativity’…..

Well, i agree. She was talking about it for a super long time.But honestly, this video was not too far. Sure, some parts were quite racy, but in contrast with how long the video was, it doesn’t matter. And it wasn’t full of IM GONNA GROPE MYSELF BECAUSE ITS ALL I KNOW HOW TO DO like a lot of videos out there. India, I enjoy your music, but GaGa is setting herself out from the crowd. She’s doing what she wants and her fans love her. I love her more than any other artist. She rocks, and I think you are probably just a bit jealous.

i think the video is stupid and only because the lyrics doesnt match the video! in the song she is clearly telling another party to stop telephoning her becuase she is in the club and too busy to answer .. but has a video where she is in jail?! and the opening scenes starts off saying gaga call from beyonce and she answers the phone saying hello yea i am in a club ?! really so there is a club that looks like a prison!!! i honestly LOVE GAGA and she is extremley creatvie ! and the song alone is def a hit! but you should at least match the video with the lyrics to your song…
