His publicist released a statement that said “Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today after suffering chest pains. Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes.”
Despite my differences with Limbaugh, I hope he makes a full recovery. I wouldn’t wish heart problems on my worst enemy.

Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner broke up

Their relationship is over before it even began. Country singer Taylor Swift and “Twilight” actor Taylor Lautner have broken after three months of dating, according to US Weekly magazine.
They met while filming their upcoming movie titled “Valentine’s Day.” Swift is 20 years old, and Lautner is only age 17.
A definite reason for the split is unknown. Maybe their schedules conflicted too much, or Maybe Swift was concerned about statutory rape laws.

Legendary film director Spike Lee put together a pictorial music video tribute to the late Michael Jackson. The video is for Michael song titled “This Is It” which was released along with the film of the same title.

Lee previously worked with Jackson for his music video “They Don’t Care About Us” during the 1990s.

Charlie Sheen accused of assaulting wife
Actor Charlie Sheen was arrested during the holiday weekend accused of using a knife to threaten his wife. The Associated Press story is posted below via NewsOK.
Click here to view the court affidavit obtained by TMZ.
ASSOCIATED PRESS
A woman who identified herself as the wife of Charlie Sheen said in a 911 call to Aspen police that the actor threatened her with a knife and that she feared for her life.
Police released the audio of the call on Monday, three days after Sheen was arrested on suspicion of menacing, second-degree assault and criminal mischief. Authorities haven’t identified the accuser, but the woman on the 911 call says her name is Brooke and that her husband is Charlie Sheen. Sheen is married to Brooke Mueller Sheen.
The woman can be heard weeping and sometimes her words are inaudible. At one point she says, “My husband had me (inaudible) with um, with a knife, and (inaudible) he threatened me.” Later, she says, “I thought I was gonna die for one hour.”
An ambulance was sent to the house but police say no one was taken to the hospital.
The 44-year-old Charlie Sheen is free on $8,500 bond. His lawyer and his agent didn’t immediately return calls on Monday.
Sheen stars in CBS’ “Two and a Half Men.”
Chief Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin said Monday the menacing charge is the most serious, usually carrying a sentence of two to eight years in prison and a fine of $2,000 to $500,000. Mordkin said Sheen’s next court appearance is Feb. 8, and no decision on whether to prosecute him is expected until shortly before that.
2009 Celebrity Year End Review

In the celebrity world, 2009 has definitely been a roller coaster year. We saw how drug use can take the life of the most talented performer in history, we saw a popular rapper throw a tempter tantrum at an awards show, we saw photos of the battered face of an R&B songstress who was the victim of domestic violence and we heard about the lurid details of a golfer’s affairs.
–The death of Michael Jackson was, by far, the most shocking celebrity story of 2009. Although we could see Jackson’s life was spiraling out of control, no one could have predicted the king of pop would be confined to a casket at age 50.
Jackson entertained the world for 40 years. He showed us how to moonwalk, he gave us dance moves to perform in the clubs, he taught us how to do the Thriller dance, he broke down barriers, he showed us how it was cool to wear one glove instead of two, and he changed the music industry forever.
Jackson (not Elvis) was truly the greatest performer who ever lived. Unfortunately, he couldn’t overcome his addiction to prescription drugs (like Elvis), and his life was cut short.
–Kanye West has been known to throw temper tantrums at award shows. That’s a reputation he’s earned during the past five years.
But in September, he messed with the wrong person. He chose to pick on sweet and innocent Taylor Swift. West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards and told the audience Beyonce deserved to win that award.
The audience at Radio City Music Hall booed the rapper, and viewers at home shunned him. West became a punching bag for the next several weeks while fans, friends, enemies and celebrities took verbal shots at him in retaliation for his disrespectful behavior toward Swift.
Even President Barack Obama called West a “jackass” during an off-the-record conversation with an CNBC reporter.
(Even though our economy was in trouble, it’s good to know the president had time to discuss Kanye West right?)
West has kept a low profile since the incident, and he canceled his joint tour with pop singer Lady Gaga because of the backlash.
Meanwhile, Swift was shown sympathy from most people in the country. Her album sales continued to soar as she became known as “Kanye’s victim.” If anything, Swift’s career was boosted by the incident. West apologized to Swift, and she accepted the apology. Case closed.
Some people said that incident was blown out of proportion and felt like people overreacted. Maybe it was blown out of proportion because it was the lead story on every newscast. Hopefully, we won’t hear this story again in 2010.
–The Tiger Woods saga was the biggest sex scandal of 2009. The scandal is so big, it will continue into 2010. It all began when Woods wrecked his vehicle into a tree and fire hydrant in his neighborhood.
Many people speculated it was the result of an argument between Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren. Within a week, one by one, several women came forward claiming they had an affair with the professional golfer. Woods posted a statement on his Web site that said he engaged in infidelity.
Woods has become the topic of discussion at water coolers around the country. There is a stereotype that all athletes cheat on their wives. So why does Woods’ affairs get so much attention? It’s because Woods has a nice-boy image, and the public bought into his nice-boy reputation. So, when he makes a mistake, people are more harsh toward him.
If it were Dennis Rodman, Andre Agassi or John McEnroe, no one would care because they don’t have a reputation for having a clean-cut image.
Other top stories from 2009 include:
–The incident where Chris Brown assaulted R&B singer Rihanna. Brown received community service and Rihanna is persevering with her music career.
–The “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ saga filled numerous news cycles throughout the year. There’s so much drama going on in that family, there’s not even enough room here to talk about it.
Ivana Trump removed from plane

(AP Photo/Jason DeCrow)
Ivana Trump was forced to leave an airplane this week in Palm Beach (Florida) because of her rude behavior.
According to the Associated Press, Trump was belligerent after she saw and heard children in the aisles running and screaming on the airplane.
When flight attendants tried to calm her down, she became more angry. She was eventually escorted off the plane at Palm Beach International Airport.
Ivana is a famous socialite who was once married to Donald Trump. I don’t condone children running and screaming on an airplane, but sometimes kids will be kids, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
She certainly could have handled herself better in this situation instead of throwing a temper tantrum. It sounds like she was acting worse than those kids.

Steven Tyler enters rehab

(AP Photo/Nathan Strange)
Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler is finally seeking professional help. Tyler entered rehab this week to help him overcome his addiction to prescription painkillers.
Tyler’s management company released a statement that said “With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my band mates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford. I love Aerosmith; I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of.”
Last month, bandmate Joe Perry suggested Tyler would no longer be part of Aerosmith due to his behavior.
Tyler was hospitalized last summer after he fell off stage during a concert in South Dakota. The band was forced to cancel the remaining dates on their summer tour. During that time, Perry said he was unable to reach Tyler for several weeks to determine the band’s future.
This is Tyler’s second rehab stint during the past two years, according to Billboard. In 2008, Tyler underwent foot surgery and became addicted to the painkillers his doctor prescribed him. He went to rehab, and became clean.
I applaud celebrities who check themselves into rehab before their problem spirals out of control.
Unfortunately, celebrities who don’t nip their prescription drug problem in the bud end up dying early like Michael Jackson and Anna Nicole Smith.
At least Steven Tyler is making an effort to overcome his addiction.

Reverend said Lady Gaga is a whore, and she’s going to hell

Lady Gaga (AP Photo/Axel Heimken)
The Rev. Fred Phelps is the reason some people avoid going to church.
Rev. Phelps (who claims to be a man of God) recently released a press statement in which he condems flamboyant pop singer Lady Gaga . He also called her a whore. Yes, a “man of God” called someone a whore. He also said she’s going to hell.
Phelps released the statement on his Web site. He said
“Thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed…Will He reserve HIs anger forever? Will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.” Jer 3:3,5
“Art” and “fashion” are the euphemisms, the guise under which proud whore Lady Gaga teaches rebellion against God (incidentally, her claim to the title of “lady” is sound only if she tacks on “of the night,” thereby alluding to another euphemism of what she is.) As much as she’d like to pretend otherwise, there’s nothing new or different about this particular hussy’s pretentious prancing. Does the simple slut truly think that she can change God’s standards by seducing a generation of rebels into joining her in fist-raised, stiff-necked, hard-hearted rebellion against Him? Get real!”
“Even as she gives lip-service to “liberating” her young fans, Lady Gaga brings them into slavery to their own corruption, teaching them to glory in their shame. She hates you! “For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness…While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption!” 2 Pet. 2:18-19. YOU’RE GOING TO HELL.”

Brother says Simon Cowell will leave American Idol
First, we lost Paula Abdul as a judge on “American Idol.” Now, it looks like we’re going to lose Simon Cowell soon.
Simon’s brother Tony Cowell said Simon will leave “American Idol” at the end of 2010. His brother Tony made the revelation on his podcast titled “The Cowell Factor.”
The Associated Press story is posted below via NewsOK.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Simon Cowell’s brother says the next season of “American Idol” will be the judge’s last.
Tony Cowell said in his weekly podcast, “The Cowell Factor,” that a statement was being prepared that would certify that the acerbic British judge was leaving the popular Fox signing competition at the end of 2010.
Simon Cowell will concentrate on bringing his popular U.K. talent show “The X Factor” to the U.S. next year, his brother said on the Saturday podcast, which has since been removed.
“Meanwhile, Simon prepares for a new season of ‘Idol,’ or should I say, his last season of ‘Idol,’” Cowell’s older brother said. “A press statement is being prepared which will confirm what everybody expected: Simon will leave ‘Idol’ at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of ‘X Factor’ to U.S. TV in 2011.”
The 50-year-old Cowell has been with “American Idol” since the series debuted in 2002. His contract ends after the upcoming ninth season, which begins Jan. 12. The judging panel was shaken up last year with the arrival of songwriter Kara DioGuardi and departure of pop star Paula Abdul, who is being replaced next season by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
A Fox spokeswoman had no comment about the report. Messages left for Cowell’s spokesman were not immediately returned.

Balloon Boy’s parents sentenced to jail for hoax

Richard Heene and Mayumi Heene in court. (AP Photo/Ed Andrieski)
The Balloon Boy Family will finally pay the piper for that hoax they initiated two months ago when the lead authorities to believe their son was in a flying balloon.
Richard Heene, also known as Balloon Boy’s father, was sentenced Wednesday to 90 days in jail by a Colorado judge. His wife, Mayumi Heene, will spend 20 days in jail.
A prosecutor is also trying to force the family to pay more than $40,000 in restitution because that’s how much it cost for the search-and-rescue effort. I agree with the judge’s decision on this case.
This couple had everyone terrified and glued to their television screen when it was believed their son was floating in a balloon by himself in Colorado. The Heene family was hoping the publicity stunt would lead to a reality show.
Did Josh Duhamel cheat on Fergie?

(AP Photo/Paul Hawthorne)

- Josh Duhamel (AP Photo/Jacob Kepler)
In October, Josh Duhamel’s face was plastered all over the tabloids and celebrity gossip magazines because a stripper came forward and claimed she had an affair with the actor.
Duhamel released a statement saying the accusations were false, and his wife Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie stood by his side.
Entertainment journalists began investigating Duhamel to determine whether the allegations were true. But something suddenly threw them off the trail.
That “something” was Tiger Woods. Everyone’s attention turned to Woods’ numerous sexual affairs that he engaged in throughout his marriage to Elin Nordegren.
The Tiger Woods scandal is starting to bore me because it’s the same story line with him. Every time I wake up in the mornings, a new mistress is on television talking about her explosive affair with Woods.
But maybe I’m just a little jealous because deep down inside I wish I had the ability to attract hundreds of women like Woods did. (I kid, I kid).
It seems no cares about the Duhamel’s situation anymore. Now that Woods’ admitted he cheated on his wife, I think it’s time for gossip journalists to return to the Duhamel story.
It’s still unknown whether Duhamel cheated on his wife. He says he didn’t, but the stripper says he did.
Kid Cudi mistakenly handcuffed by police

Kid Cudi (MySpace)
Hip hop star Kid Cudi was handcuffed by police after a photo shoot in Los Angeles this week.
The rapper was being photographed for the magazine New Music Expresson Monday. Kid Cudi, and members of his entourage, left the magazine shoot when they were stopped by police.
According to MTV, police made all passengers exit the three vehicles, and they forced them on their knees. Some of the passengers were handcuffed, including Kid Cudi.
About 10 police officers pointed their weapons and a police helicopter circled the area. Kid Cudi and the other passengers were released when police determined it was a case of mistaken identity, according to MTV.
Police were responding to a phone call they received, and the caller said a group of men were looting nearby. So, police assumed Kid Cudi and his entourage were somehow involved in the looting.
It’s good no one falsely went to jail, but it’s still humiliating and intimidating to have police officers point their guns at you and place you in handcuffs when you’ve done nothing wrong.
Although they haven’t done it yet, I’m hoping the LAPD will issue a public apology to Kid Cudi. If he were guilty, they wouldn’t be shy about telling everyone about it. Therefore, since he was innocent, they shouldn’t be shy about it either.
