Diana Ross is ignoring Tyler Perry

Film director Tyler Perry would like to bring his film “A Jazz Man’s Blues” to the big screen, but there’s one big-haired diva who is holding up the film. It’s the legendary Diana Ross.
Perry said he’s been trying to persuade Ross to take the starring role in the film, but she won’t give him the time of day.
In an interview with BV Buzz, Perry said “Diana Ross is still ignoring me. I’ve sent flowers. That’s why I haven’t done Jazz Man yet because I’m waiting for her to say yes. Once she says yes, I’ll do that film. Yes, Tyler Perry is stalking Diana Ross. I want her in the film. I’ve been sending flowers. I’ve been sending people by her. I’ve been sending e-mails to people who know her. I’ve talked to the man who walks her dog. I’ve been trying to locate where she’s at. Is she in this part of the country? Is she doing a concert somewhere? Can I get backstage? Tyler Perry is stalking Diana Ross.”
Ross, a former member of The Supremes, has proven herself as an actress. In 1973, she won a Golden Globe award for portraying Billie Holiday in the film “Lady Sings The Blues.” She was also nominated for an Oscar for that role.
Her last acting role was in 1999 with the television movie titled “Double Platinum.” She hasn’t acted during the past decade, and maybe that’s why she keeps ignoring Tyler Perry’s request.
If she doesn’t want to star in his movie, she should at least tell him no, instead of ignoring him.

This would open a whole new generation to Miss Ross — she really should do it. Why doesn’t Tyler go through Tracey Ellis Ross (she co-starred in one of his films)?

Miss Ross is not a washed up has been! She is a legendary singer who had a viable acting career. Obviously Tyler Perry is not of the same opinion as you. VH1 Divas had to the Diva several time before she agreed. I hope TP keeps on trying. She’s be great. A whole new generation could be exposed to her talent and screen charisma. One of his movies featuring her will be a definate blcokbuster!
Diana is forever a legend, If you knew anything about her career you will know is not now or will ever be a has been. She does need to have a number one record, movie etc… to be simply DIANA ROSS. I for one however would love to see her star in this movie.
Sure, Mr. Perry’s movies are fun, but, I can understand why she doesn’t want to act in one of them. Most of his films are completely ghetto & portray middle & upper-class Blacks with incredible disdain, as do many of his film’s fans. I MAY be wrong, but, I don’t think that that’s the kind of audience that Diana Ross is trying to attract, new or old. Further, let’s be honest, his films, though they earn substantial box office returns, are not of the highest quality. They tend to have a “home-made” look to them. She’s a stickler for producing a high-quality, high-standard product. Nothing less is appropriate. If he raises his standards, he may have a better shot…or, he could just ask her directly.
I don’t blame Diana Ross for not wanting to star in Tyler Perry’s movies. They are all the same. He should try something new; be more versatile.
@the idiot who said Diana is washed up. Miss Ross continues to wow sold out crowds overseas, and is an international icon. She is a terrific actress and as you’ve read she received an Oscar Nomination for Lady Sings the Blues, A golden Globe for the film, and also a Golden Globe for “Out of Darkness”. Miss Ross has cemented her career that spans over 40 plus years. She is a mother, an activist, singer, model, designer, producer, director, actress, entertainer extraordinaire. Mr. Perry has every right to track her down because he knows he true talent.
Diana is an old jail bird drunk that needs to stay away from the big screen at least until she learns how to put make up on that clown look with the red cheeks is hidious.
well i would ignore him too…just look at his photo,i only hope(for his sake) that he has a big banana down there because lets face it girls…he ain’t much to look at. no wonder why he does drag! i’m sure miss ross realizes she made it to the top of that entertainment mountain and has nothing left to prove especially to those haters!
If she doesn’t want to do it… I sure will!! LOL! I may not be as old… or able to blow as awesome as her! But I would set it off for that movie! LOL!
