Nick Jonas will release solo album

The Jonas Brothers during an event in New York (AP Photo/Peter Kramer)
Jonas Brothers singer Nick Jonas is releasing an album in 2010 without his two brothers tagging along. Nick made the announcement on the group’s MySpace blog. Excerpts from the blog is posted below.
“Hey everyone! The Jonas Brothers are NOT breaking up! Nick Jonas IS working on a side project called Nick Jonas & The Administration. This project will be released early in 2010. We are ALL excited about this project.”
“About 6 months ago, the three of us had a 2 week break from touring, and we all decided to go and do something that was on our hearts. Joe went on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. Kevin spent some time with his fiancé Danielle. I decided to go to Nashville, TN to make a side project (Nick Jonas & The Administration) with 4 musicians – guys that I had met and worked with before. If I was to describe the sound to someone… I would say its “heart & soul”, because the music that I make is from my heart, and the lyrics I write are from my soul.”
“We’ve said from the beginning of our career as the Jonas Brothers that anything we do outside of the group is a side project because you can’t break up brothers. My brothers are my biggest supporters, and were on the phone with me every day while I was in the studio asking how it was going, and telling me they couldn’t wait to hear the record.”
Although they claim they’re not going to break up as a group, I think it depends on whether Nick’s album is a success.
I remember when Justin Timberlake released his first solo album, and he said N’Sync isn’t breaking up. As we all know, Justin’s album was successful, and he never returned to N’Sync. He left the group sitting in the dust.
Beyonce did the same thing with Destiny’s Child. I’m not saying this will happen to the Jonas Brothers, but it’s a possibility.
Rapper slams Jay-Z in new song

Beanie Sigel during a photo shoot in 2004 (AP Photo/Jim Cooper)
Rapper Beanie Sigel is releasing a new song in which he verbally attacks his former close friend Jay-Z. An excerpt from the song is posted below.
“This ain’t a diss record, this a real record
How does it feel to get exposed, don’t you feel naked
I was a fly on the wall and what I witnessed
I can say things to make Bey (Beyonce) look at you different
And my gangsta wasn’t never on trial, I stood up tall, no snitching
But the rapper Shawn called the police on me
Cause I was front row at the Blueprint 3″
Jay-Z and Beanie have been joined at the hip for more than 10 years. Not sure why Beanie is so upset with him.
Maybe it’s because Beanie’s rap career never skyrocketed like Jay-Z’s career. Or maybe its because Beanie is facing drug possession charges, and Jay-Z never went to bat for him.
It will be interesting to see if Jay-Z responds with a diss record of his own.
Oprah Winfrey accused of double standard
When Chris Brown was accused of asaulting Rihanna earlier this year, Oprah Winfrey used her talk show to make critcal comments about Brown and domestic violence (and rightfully so).
Earlier this year, gospel singer BeBe Winans was arrested on a domestic assault complaint accused of pushing his ex-wife Debra Winans to the ground.
However, Oprah didn’t make critical comments about BeBe. In fact, BeBe was invited to appear on the show to promote his new CD with his sister CeCe Winans.
During an interview with TMZ, BeBe’s ex-wife Debra said she felt hurt when Oprah allowed BeBe to appear on her show especially after she was critical of Chris Brown.
No one really knows what occurred during the incident between BeBe and his ex-wife. Everything is he said/she said. But with Chris Brown and Rihanna, we’ve all seen the photos of Rihanna’s battered and bruised face. Maybe that’s why Oprah was more harsh toward Chris.
Should BeBe Winans have been allowed to appear on Oprah’s show? Is it a double standard? Let me know in the comments section below.

Andre Agassi admits using crystal meth
Tennis legend Andre Agassi admitted he used something worse than steroids. He admitted using crystal meth. Agassi made the revelation in his new autobiography.
He said he tested positive for crystal meth, but he tricked the Association of Tennis Professionals by telling them he took the drugs by accident.
Agassi said he used crystal meth in 1997 when his tennis game began to lag, and he was having second thoughts about his marriage to actress Brooke Shields.
An excerpt from the book is posted below. Agassi writes about what happened after he tested positive for drugs.
“My name, my career, everything is now on the line. Whatever I’ve achieved, whatever I’ve worked for, might soon mean nothing. Days later I sit in a hard-backed chair, a legal pad in my lap, and write a letter to the ATP. It’s filled with lies interwoven with bits of truth.”
“I say Slim, whom I’ve since fired, is a known drug user, and that he often spikes his sodas with meth — which is true. Then I come to the central lie of the letter. I say that recently I drank accidentally from one of Slim’s spiked sodas, unwittingly ingesting his drugs. I ask for understanding and leniency and hastily sign it: Sincerely. “I feel ashamed, of course. I promise myself that this lie is the end of it.”
It’s difficult for me to comprehend that tennis officials actually believed his drink was spiked.
Agassi, who won eight grand slam titles, was a cash cow for the tennis association. He brought millions of dollars to the sport, so I think tennis officials chose to look the other way.
Rihanna will perform on cruise ship
If you’ve ever taken a cruise vacation, I’m sure you’ve heard the mediocre amateur singers try to belt out tunes on stage during the nightly shows.
But Royal Caribbean will get a big-name performer next month for its Oasis of the Seas cruise ship.
R&B singer Rihanna will perform a concert on the ship Nov. 19 during the three-day cruise. Oasis of the Seas is the newest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet.
Rihanna’s new CD titled “Rated R” will be in stores Nov. 23.

Jay-Z likes Big Girls Don’t Cry
Rapper Jay-Z proved he’s really secure in his manhood.
During an interview with the Huffington Post, Jay-Z said when he works out in the gym, he enjoys listening to “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie.
He said “I really like that song. I would sing it really loud no matter where I was at in the gym, and I know a couple other guys were singing and they won’t say it, but I’m man enough to say that Fergie’s Big Girls Don’t Cry. I would sing that in the gym.”
Now that Jay-Z is man enough to admit that he sings along to that song, I want to hear from other readers.
In the comments section below, please tell me an embarrassing song that you enjoy listening to when you’re by yourself, but you’re too ashamed to admit it to anyone else.
It could the Backstreet Boys, Vanilla Ice, Spice Girls, Milli Vanilli–or anything.
Britney Spears, Rihanna, Shakira, Adam Lambert, Susan Boyle releasing albums in same week
The last week of November will be a showdown among five popular musicians.
Britney Spears, Rihanna, Shakira, Adam Lambert and Susan Boyle will release new albums the week of Nov. 23 vying for the number one spot.
Rihanna’s album “Rated R” will likely debut at number one. This is the singer’s first album since the infamous Chris Brown incident.
Everyone is rooting for Rihanna to come back on top. Plus, her new song “Russian Roulette” has caused a little controversy because of the lyrical content. We all know controversy sells.
Britney Spears’ “The Singles Collection” will probably debut at number two.
Although its a greatest hits CD, the lip-synching performer is still enormously popular. Fans who attended her recent Circus Tour will probably flock to stores to purchase the greatest hits package.
I predict Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” will debut in the number three position. Although he didn’t win the ”American Idol” title, he still has a huge fan base. It won’t be enough to overtake Rihanna and Britney, but it’s big enough for third place.
Shakira’s “She Wolf” album will probably take the number four spot, despite that semi-annoying song with the same title.
No one can forget when Susan Boyle shocked the world while she belted out “I Dreamed a Dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
Her CD “I Dreamed a Dream” will likely debut at number five.
She will definitely dominate the charts in Europe, but she doesn’t do much promotion in the U.S.

Balloon boy mother admits it was a hoax

The mother of the balloon boy finally admits that whole situation was a hoax. The full Associated Press story is posted below via NewsOK.com.
BY ASSOCIATED PRESS
The mother of the 6-year-old boy once feared missing inside a runaway helium balloon admitted the whole saga was a hoax, according to court documents released Friday.
Mayumi Heene told sheriff’s deputies that she and her husband, Richard, “knew all along that Falcon was hiding in the residence” in Fort Collins, according to an affidavit used to get a search warrant for the home.
She allegedly told investigators the incident was a hoax meant to make them more marketable to the media.
“Mayumi described that she and Richard Heene devised this hoax approximately two weeks earlier … . She and Richard had instructed their three children to lie to authorities as well as the media regarding this hoax,” the affidavit said.
Richard Heene has denied a hoax. His lawyer, David Lane, said Friday he is waiting to see the evidence in the case.
“Allegations are cheap,” Lane said.
Mayumi Heene’s lawyer, Lee Christian, was traveling and didn’t immediately respond to messages left with his office.
Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden has said he will recommend charges against the Heenes including conspiracy, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, making a false report to authorities, and attempting to influence a public servant. The most serious charges are felonies.
Alderden said authorities would seek restitution for the balloon chase.
His office has said charges may come next week.
In frantic calls to a TV station, 911 and federal aviation officials, the Heenes said they feared Falcon was in the homemade, saucer-like balloon when it launched from their backyard last week.
