Did Alicia Keys steal someone’s husband?
The alleged “other woman” is putting R&B singer Alicia Keys on blast. The alleged “other woman” is R&B singer Mashonda. Alicia is currently dating Mashonda’s husband Swizz Beatz.
Mashonda and Swizz Beatz are currently going through a divorce, but Mashonda claims Alicia is the reason the marriage broke up. She’s accusing Alicia of stealing her husband.
Mashonda posted an open letter to Alicia. The letter is posted below.
“After having a great evening with my son and enjoying some fun twit chat, I decided to sign off and get some work done. However, a few hours later I was advised that I should check @Alicia keys twit page.”
“I’ve never reached out to her on twitter before. I feel our issues are a lot more serious than a website conversation. Not to mention that I’ve reached out to her many times in the beginning of this whole thing, as any wife would do.”
“Unfortunately, I never succeeded in getting a response. The 1st time I meet AK, my husband introduced us to each other at an event. ( I have no choice but to call him my husband, until he is not anymore) In the messages that I sent to her (AK), I made it very clear that on the contrary of what she might be hearing, I am still married to my husband, living with him and just had a child.”
“Its been two years and I still have not received a response. What I do receive, is constant displays of selfishness and disconcern to me and my son.”
“I was a fan of AK’s last album, we were both signed to J Records and I always checked up on her projects. I sang her songs and admired her for creating Superwoman and Karma, I would never deny her, her talent. I believed in her until I found out she was possibly sleeping with my husband. The affair was denied by both, until it was finally admitted months later.”
“Already I can hear some of you saying “why are u blaming her, You cant make someone leave their wife, You cant break something thats broken”. Well, my marriage was not broken, as far as I knew we were celebrating our sons birth and getting ready to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary . Call it blind love, whatever. I am probably the biggest Alecia Keys fan on this website. In fact, I just took some pictures of her at a mini concert at the P.C. Richards Theatre in New York a week before Thanksgiving. If everything I am reading on this blog is true,then I have to tell you I am really disappointed. Two things immediately came to mind. Number one,adultry,one of the biggest sins in the Bible, should not be taken lightly. You won’t always be able to get whatever man you want. We all grow old and grey one day. And number two,any man weak enough to leave a wife who just gave him a child isn’t exactly a great catch.That is one fish that should have repulsed you,and you should have tossed his butt back to sea. If he did it once,he damn sure can do it again. You will have to always look over your shoulder and wonder who will be YOUR next young up and coming Alecia Keys.
You could have any man you want.I refuse to believe you couldn’t find one single, and minus the baggage. God will handle all things in due time. “God is always On-time.” There are several points of love to address here. First, marry a person who you truly love and loves you. God may have sent blessing to all of you before that went overlooked. Second; never bring a child into an unstable marriage or relationship. It’s never a good idea of having or using a child to hold-on to someone. Third, never try hold onto anyone that doesn’t want you, love you or respect you. Fourth, never enter into a relationship with anyone that has unfinished business. AK; as a devoted father of a little girl that adores you and as I love you as a person/artist. Mashonda you have spoken for so many women. Since my divorce I have not heard it put so on point. People always say if he left something was not right in the first place…..well that is not true. Sometimes things are just as you and I expected. Marriage is hard work and someone else sleeping with your husband only makes it harder. My ex was cheating while I was pregnant with our second child. He was talking about how much he loved us and he would never leave. He finally kept on until he left four months after my mom died and our daughter was only 14 months. My son(then 3), could not understand why and often asked for his father. My daughter still does. We were at the park and a man, wife and two girls showed up and he chased them. My daughter goes over and jumps in. I immediately called her back and she came back crying and stated, “I want a daddy to chase me.” Even three years later I cannot tell you what that did to my heart. You do right to try and find closure, however don’t expect too much. If they were selfish enough to do that to you yet alone your daughter, they will never own up to it. Trust me. I know girl it’s an unbelievable pain and it never goes away I think you just learn to deal with it. It resurfaces every time that child had a milestone and you should have your husband there to share it. I spend most of my time praying for Jehovah God to help me let it go. Some days, weeks and months are better than others. To all the women out there as 4Vee said it…. Be sure it’s a blessing and not the devil. Because I thought mine was a blessing but he turned out to be just as foul and evil as the depths of hell and so is that species he is with(she doesn’t deserve to be called a woman). As for Alicia, I no longer listen to her music. That’s my silent way of support to all women who have been down this road. As you stated, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Be strong Mashonda for so many others who will never overcome this pain and will fall prey to a broken heart. Those are the ones who really did not see it coming. For those that do really truly move on consider yourselves blessed. It’s an awful hunting that just eats away at your core. I am very disappointed with Alicia Key. I was never a fan, nor did I ever listen to her music. But I thought she had class as a successful black woman. The sad thing about all this, It will never last. The Bible says whatsoever a man soweth that will he reap. Any time a relationship starts off with deception and stealing of other people’s property. I will not last. You were definitely wrong. May God have mercy on you.
I don’t follow the tabloids because they are too depressing and always seem negative. I have also always like Alicia Keys as a musician and never have seen musicians, actors, athletes, ect. as role models because I understand at the end of the day we are only human. I do however work with teenagers who don’t always see the world as many adults do. My teen mentorship program LOVES Alicia Keys. We had a discussion recently and they brought up this situation with AK and the stealing of someone else’s husband. Believe it or not, the kids actually felt AK was wrong in this situation and felt SHE should have had enough will power to just say NO! LOL!! As adults we know life is CRAZY and not a cookie cut out and we ALL have temptations no matter how much we recite verses from the Bible. I told my youth group that we don’t know the whole situation, but we do know there was a marriage and a child involved and BOTH parties were definitely wrong in how they pursued each other, but unfortunately they were just WEAK. It takes a strong man/woman to stay faithful and devoted to their spouse. I have been with my husband for 10 years and everyday I see attractive men and every day I have “thoughts” LOL! But I love my husband and our life together. You can’t be weak and let your emotions take over. The grass always looks greener on the otherside, but it may be spray paint 
To make a long story short, my kids no longer listen to her music and they won’t even perform to her music. The part I am most proud of is I always thought kids didn’t care if their idol did anything wrong….. well I was wrong. At the end of the day they are rich and probably do not care either way what “we” feel or if “we” even listen to their music. My students said to me yesterday that AK thinks she can do a fundraiser for children with HIV and have all her sins erased? Really? Do I look like Boo Boo the Fool? LOL!! Leave it to kids to as they say “Keep it Real” LOL!!

As I sit in my livingroom reading all of these comments some comments being “judgmental and in the same breath quoting the bible”lol. I began not to write anything at all. Then I thought it might never get read and if it does that would be great. As a women a mother and a wife I know it take’s two people to be in a marriage. Mashonda if you could not see what was going on in your marraige you are a blind woman. Every women knows thier man she also knows when something is wrong. Its easy to take the light road and point the finger to say this person broke your marriage up or caused the problems that you had. When the truth is if the other person was happy no one would have been able to come between the both of you. Lesson one: When you become self involved you become bilnd to see anyone or anything until its to late.
Lesson two: Alicia as hard as it was for you and Swizz to find the strength to be together you both should have waited. Until everything was finalized to at lease close the chapter on an already broken marraige. After they finalized there mess then handle it like a women and now mother.
Lesson Three: The one comment almost everyone before me forgot to mention. Swizz I understand you were in a tuff space having to choose between your then “wife” and the women you have deep feelings for. You made the choice possibly to soon. No one can say anything if your current business is finished and then you began a new.
Lastly to everyone that wrote comments passing judgment on any of the people in this situation. We have all made mistakes in our lives some bad, some good, and some with the absolute wrong timing!! Before anyone begans to pass judgment on anyone look in the mirror your life in not that stright foward.

MS could have over look the signs of her failing marriage but that was for her to see and not another woman gain to get her husband. Ms. AK is bueatiful and smart at least we all thought she was. i will never buy anything alicia keys make. she set out to destroy a family, and what makes it even worse is she did it to another sista. and to get pregnant by him is disrespectful. i use to be a big fan of alicia keys not anymore. i will never agree with another woman, let alone a sista, stealing another womans husband. she is dirty, and triflin, her and him, and what goes around, comes around. in the bible it says you will reap what you sew, and believe me mashonda he will dothe same thing to her. you loss a real fan alicia, period!
Moshonda my heart goes out to you, and I am very dissapointed in how Alicia handled this whole thing, after all people respect and look up to her, but knowing that your intent was not to hurt her rep (she did that shit herself) I can’t believe she would let herself get mixed up in such a whirlwind when actually she should have waited for the man to be divorced if that was gonna happen. I know some time has passed since the initial post but the topic is still a hot one. Infidelity always is. I’ve been on both sides of this fence…having my man cheat on me and becoming involved with a man who’s married. I don’t believe in the whole “you can’t help who you fall in love w/ thing”. OF COURSE you can. We all make choices. You simply remove yourself from that situation. The first time you make the decision to get to know someone who’s “committed” to another, you’ve consciously chosen your course. Feigning innocence in the situation just doesn’t fly. You are both in the wrong because you KNOW you are attracted to one another and still, you CONSCIOUSLY move forward.
Adultery is wrong. Alicia and Swiss was wrong. It does not matter if his wife knew about their affair or not, she is the victim here. There is nothing wrong with a person wanting to try to save their marriage be it man or woman, society please don’t make them out to be wrong. To Swiss and Alicia all I have to say to the both of them is karma is a b-t-h and I hope that you can take as much as you dish out. You reap what you sow and sowing don’t have to come at you in the form of infidelity. God said Thy should not committ adultery, he has already said that it is wrong, so don’t try to make people feel bad because they speak against it.

I’m very late on the comment but i am honestly just seeing the letter from the ex wife with my own 2 eyes! Alicia keys Knows better than to steal someones husband! there is no excuse for that! I am a firm beliver in NOT messing with married men becasue I have seen a relative of mine creep with a married man and her whole life did a spiral downward. She was so stressed out and miserable from the situation that she even started looking different. Ex wife i know it hurts really badly! I know it does but you have got to find a positive way to forgive sb for the betrayal (prayer is having a converstion with God) talk to God about it. Do your part as the mother of the child to the best of your ablity and surrender sb and ak to God and go on with your life. forgive him for the betrayal and the confusing and misleading and watever else you label his behavior and ak’s behavior. It will do so much more for you and nothing for them but at least you wont be burdened by it. You will feel a peace and a calm like never before! TRUST THAT! If you cant talk to a.k. then write a long letter expressing your feelings to her and re read it to yourself and then burn it or bury it( thats a form of relasing and getting what you feel out) its closure. You have to for your own sake forgive the betrayal and the manipulation. *I know how you feel ive experienced alot of betrayals and rejections in my life. But I learned there is a secret value of Letting Go and Letting GOD. You have no control over other people or the poor decisions they choose but you do have complete control on your response to the situation and the role you will play in it. I know it is a bitter pill to swollow. But time heals all wounds God is going to bless you beyond your own understanding when you really FORGIVE them and SUrrender them to God! I am not judging them sb and ak ( they know right from wrong! they know about karma) I leave that in Gods hands! They will someday learn the real meaning of Keeping Vows and the word Loyalty and whatever other morals they lack (trust and belive that).
