Whitney Houston countersues her stepmother
Music legend Whitney Houston proved she isn’t going to bow down to her stepmother.
Whitney recently filed a counter lawsuit against her stepmother Barbara Houston for $1.6 million.
Barbara filed a lawsuit against Whitney last year claiming Whitney improperly kept $1 million from her late father’s life insurance policy.
The stepmother alleges Whitney was supposed to use that $1 million and pay off the mortgage on her dad’s home then return the remaining money to her.
In Whitney’s lawsuit filed this week, she claims her stepmother owes her $1.6 million for failing to pay the mortgage and taxes on her condo.
I don’t know who is right and who is wrong, but I do know that Whitney and her stepmother both will lose a lot of money to their attorneys.
These two lawsuits will drag out for the next several years. It’s probably wise that they both drop their lawsuits and move on with their lives.
I am a little surprised that the stepmother even filed a lawsuit. Considering the fact that she was probably living off of Whitney’s money ever since she married Whitney’s father. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
