Rihanna’s father spoke to People Magazine about the incident that occurred between his daughter and Chris Brown but he didn’t offer specific details.
Brown was arrested last week accused of assaulting his girlfriend singer Rihanna.
During the interview, Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty said “You think you know somebody, but you really don’t. There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so. At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.”
On a side note, I’ve been browsing some entertainment Web sites, and several readers left disturbing comments suggesting that Rihanna is to blame because she probably provoked Chris Brown.
While everyone is definitely entitled to their own opinion, it’s important that we keep in mind Rihanna is the victim.
She is NOT the perpetrator, and she shouldn’t be blamed for this unfortunate incident.

Chris Brown releases a statement about the Rihanna incident

I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong.”He also said “While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else.”
I’m sure he is remorseful about what happened, and I’m sure he will indeed emerge as a better person after he’s done with counseling.
No one yet knows exactly what caused the fight, but we do know that Rihanna was beaten up.
Instead of releasing this statement to the public, he probably should have released a statement to Rihanna because she was the one who was physically beaten up and not the public.
Also this statement was released to the media through Brown’s publicist. I wonder if those are Brown’s words in the statement, or if his publicist is the one who drafted it.

Carrie Underwood and Ruben Studdard speak about Chris Brown/Rihanna incident
American Idol winners Carrie Underwood and Ruben Studdard recently commented to US Weekly magazine about the Chris Brown/Rihanna fiasco.
Underwood said, “They were fine at the Grammy party. I don’t think anybody actually knows what happened. I have no advice because, thank goodness, I’ve never been in any kind of abusive situation.”
She also said, “You hear a new one (rumor) every five minutes, and some of them are getting kind of ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who’s involved figure out everything first.”
Season 2 American Idol winner Ruben Studdard said “I’m still praying for him. Everybody always has something negative to say about everything, and I always try to be positive. You never know what’s going on in people’s personal situations.
Well duh Ruben. When you beat up your girlfriend, of course people are going to say something negative about you.
Also, it’s okay if he says a prayer for Chris Brown, but he never said he was going to say a prayer for Rihanna.
She probably needs more prayers because she was the one who was beaten.

Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are NOT leaving Grey’s Anatomy
The creator of “Grey’s Anatomy” Shonda Rhimes said T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl are NOT leaving show.
Rhimes said it was an untrue rumor. However, the rumor was started by a fellow “Grey’s Anatomy” cast member.
Earlier this week, their co-star James Pickens Jr. told US Weekly magazine that both Heigl and Knight are leaving the show.
It turns out even Pickens apparently is kept in the dark when it comes to who’s leaving and who’s staying.
They should probably keep him in the loop.

Usher’s wife suffered cardiac arrest
R&B singer Usher’s wife was hospitalized earlier this week in Brazil due to complications from cosmetic surgery.
The doctor’s representative revealed Tuesday (Feb. 12) exactly what those complications were. He said the wife Tameka Raymond suffered from cardiac arrest while under anesthesia to prepare for liposuction.
She was then put in a coma until she recovered. As a result of the incident, the liposuction was never actually performed.
The death of Kanye West’s mother (who died from liposuction complications) serves as a reminder of how dangerous this procedure can be. It should only be done on people who are morbidly obese.
Usher’s wife was not morbidly obese. In fact, she was skinny.
She just gave birth to their second child together and she hadn’t lost all of her baby weight, so I guess she tried to take a shortcut and have liposuction to get rid of the excess baby weight.
Not a good idea.

Naked picture of Madonna sold for $37,500
A naked picture of Madonna that was taken back in 1979 has been sold on the auction block to a European man for $37,500.
The photo was taken when Madonna was 20 years old struggling to make ends meet. The full-frontal photo was later published in Playboy magazine in 1985 after she became famous.
I think $37,500 is a lot of money, and it’s not worth it. There are plenty of naked Madonna photos floating around the Internet, and you can look at them for free without paying $37,500.
The guy who bought the photo must have plenty of money to waste.

Miley Cyrus sued for $4 billion
A woman filed a lawsuit against teenybop singer Miley Cyrus this week, and you’ll never guess how much she is being sued for–$4 billion. Yes, $4 billion with a “B”
Cyrus was photographed slanting her eyes in a picture, and many people in the Asian-American community were offended. The plaintiff, Lucie Kim filed the $4 billion lawsuit saying she is representing one million Asians who live in Los Angeles County.
Cyrus said she wasn’t making fun of anyone’s ethnicity in the photo. She claims she was just making a goofy face.
Whether you believe her, the fact is she can’t afford to pay that $4 billion lawsuit. She’s a millionaire, but she’s nowhere near being a billionaire. She’s not Oprah.
The plaintiff should reduce the lawsuit to $1 million, then she might have a better chance of winning.

Chris Brown hiding out in Las Vegas
So where has Chris Brown been hiding at since he was arrested on an assault complaint accused of beating up his girlfriend singer Rihanna?
According to E News, he has been in a suite at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Whenever you’re in legal trouble accused of beating up your girlfriend, what better place to hang out than Las Vegas (aka Sin City) to help take your mind off of the chaos.
On second thought, maybe he should hang out at church instead because he’s really going to need God to help him out of the jam that he’s in.
Those slot machines will do him no good.

R&B singer Ne-Yo sued
R&B singer Ne-Yo is being sued this week by a company that claims he failed to show up at an event.
Representatives from Wet Entertainment allege they paid Ne-Yo $95,000 to host a New Year’s Eve show in Washington state, but he didn’ t show up.
Therefore, the show was canceled at the last minute. They are suing him for $1 million in damage.
Update: Sexual assault dropped against Saving Abel member
Prosecutors have dropped sexual assault charges against
Jason Null, a member of the rock band Saving Abel and a band associate.
According to the Oakland Tribune, Null along with an associate of the band Brandon Danger were accused of luring the girl on the band’s tour bus by telling her she was going to be in a rock video. The girl accused them of forcing her to perform oral sex on them.
However, according to the Associated Press, prosecutors recently discovered a videotape that contradicted the girl’s accusations.
So the two men won’t face any charges.
Since the videotape showed the girl lied about the incident, I think she she should be thrown in jail.
Falsely labeling someone as a sexual abuser is irresponsible, cruel, illegal and could permanently damage someone’s reputation.
Null was the co-founder of Saving Abel. Their hit song “Addicted” peaked at number 2 on the Billboard rock charts.

President Obama discusses A-Rod scandal
Baseball star Alex Rodriguez aka A-Rod recently admitted he used to take steroids.
During President Obama’s televised news conference at the White House, a reporter asked Obama what he thought about the A-Rod scandal and he replied,
“I think it’s depressing news on top of what’s been a flurry of depressing items when it comes to major league baseball. And if you’re a fan of major league baseball, I think it tarnishes an entire era, to some degree. And it’s unfortunate, because I think there are a lot of ballplayers who played it straight.”
“What I’m pleased about is major league baseball seems to finally be taking this seriously, to recognize how big a problem this is for the sport, and that our kids hopefully are watching and saying, ‘You know what? There are no short cuts, that when you try to take short cuts, you may end up tarnishing your entire career, and that your integrity’s not worth it. That’s the message I hope is communicated.”
I think it’s okay if President Obama has an opinion about A-Rod and steroid use, but I don’t think this press conference was the appropriate place to discuss this topic.
The reporter never should have asked this question. We are stuck in a war in Iraq that keeps dragging on, we have the worst economy since the Great Depression and workers are getting laid off left and right.
I prefer my president focus on these important issues instead of discussing A-Rod. Let the Major League Baseball organization be concerned about A-Rod.
