Whitney Houston will perform at Grammy party
Whitney Houston is stepping back into the spotlight. The singer will perform at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy Party before the awards show Feb. 7, according to the New York Post.
After several years of having a hoarse voice due to drug use, it’s unknown whether she will sound like she is on top of her game or if she is still unable to hit those high notes like she used to.
P. Diddy and Jennifer Hudson are also scheduled to perform.

A judge ordered Ed McMahon to pay $180,000
A judge ruled that Ed McMahon must pay Citibank $180,000 that he owed during the past four years. McMahon has had money problems during the past couple of years, and he hasn’t been able to pay his bills.
He said he fell and broke his neck back in 2007, and he hasn’t been able to work to make some money.
I think Citibank should cut him some slack. Ed McMahon is 85 years old, and i’m sure his time on this Earth is dwindling before he finally passes away. They should show some sympathy.
The government used taxpayer money to give Citibank a bailout because Citibank got into some financial problems along with other banks nationwide. Therefore, Citibank should give McMahon a bailout too.

Boy George sentenced to jail
Flamboyant singer Boy George was sentenced to 15 months in jail after a male escort (aka prostitute) accused him of false imprisonment.
The escort (aka prostitute) accused Boy George of handcuffing him to a wall and swung a metal chain at him.
Boy George admitted during the trial that he handcuffed him to the wall, but he said it was because he thought the escort (aka prostitute) was removing photos from his computer.
He should be just fine behind bars. I’m sure he’ll find plenty of guys in jail are willing to be handcuffed.

The mother of Notorious B.I.G. responds to Lil Kim’s comments
Lil Kim is angry about how she is portrayed in the upcoming biography film “Notorious” which tells the life of the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. (whose real name is Christopher Wallace.
In a previous blog, I printed the negative comments that Lil Kim made about Notorious B.I.G.’s mother Voletta Wallace. Click here to read the comments.
Now, Wallace is responding to Kim’s comments. According to the Associated Press she said, “This is not a Lil Kim movie. This is a Christopher Wallace movie. It has nothing to do with Lil Kim. If she’s disappointed and upset, that is her problem.”
Wow. Strong words coming from Miss Wallace. I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I can’t comment on how Lil Kim was portrayed in the film.
Since Lil Kim was the mistress, my guess is she probably really was portrayed badly. But how else is a mistress supposed to be portrayed?
The “Notorious” movie will be in theaters Jan. 16.

Kevin Bacon discusses losing his money to Bernie Madoff
Kevin Bacon opened up about him and his wife Kyra Sedgwick losing their money to a Bernie Madoff, who is accused of running a Ponzi scheme and stealing $50 billion from his clients.
In an interview with Life & Style magazine. Bacon said “We’ll march on. We have to. There’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life. I didn’t see it coming. I don’t have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons.”
Bacon didn’t reveal exactly how much money he lost, but my guess is that he lost a huge chunk of his fortune. The other victims who invested their money with Madoff ended up losing everything they had.
Bacon has a role in the film “Frost/Nixon” and the upcoming films “Taking Chances” and “My One and Only.” His wife stars on the television show “The Closer.” Hopefully, they are making enough money from those roles to recover their financial loss.

Jennifer Love Hewitt gets restrainining order against a stalker
Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt was successful at obtaining a restraining order against a 62-year-old man is accused of stalking her.
Hewitt claims the man has been stalking her since 2007.
According to her petition, she said David Nolte sent her 120 disturbing and violent letters that talked about the guns he owned and his fantasies with Hewitt.
She is also alleging that he sent her two plane tickets to Australia and an itinerary that he planned out for them. He also moved from his home in Colorado to Los Angeles to be closer to her.
To top it off, he showed up at her mother’s house. This guy should be locked up in psychiatric ward and never released because he is seriously going to hurt someone.
On the bright side, at least he bought her a plane ticket to vacation in Australia. That gesture shows that he has a soft romantic side.

Jennifer Hudson will perform at the Super Bowl
R&B singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson will perform at the Super Bowl football game Feb. 1. An NFL spokesman said she will be singing the national anthem.
This will be Hudson’s first public appearance since her mother, brother and nephew were brutally killed in October.
Her brother-in-law William Balfour was charged in connection with the incident.

Hayden Panettiere was kicked out of the club
Actress Hayden Panettiere is rich, famous and has millions of fans. But the actress still doesn’t have enough star power to get away with sneaking into club while underage.
According to E! News, Panettiere and six of her female friends went into a club through the employee entrance. The problem is that Panettiere is only 19 years old, but you have to be at least 21 years old before you can get into that club.
They wandered around for about 10 minutes before a security guard asked her for her Id. When it was discovered that she was underage, they kicked her out of the club and confiscated her license.
Police were called and the officer told E! News, “I asked her if she tried to buy alcohol and she denied it. Panettiere told me that someone opened the side door of the nightclub so she could go inside and say hello to friends, not buy drinks.”
I don’t believe the story that Panettiere told police. Seriously, who walks into a club just to say hello to someone? Although I don’t believe her version of events, I can’t be critical toward her.
I won’t pretend like I’ve never tried to sneak into an underage club whenever I was teenager. She’s just being a normal teenager. That’s pretty common.

Bone, Thugs and Harmony rapper was beaten up and robbed.
Bone, Thugs and Harmony rapper Bizzy Bone was beaten up and robbed. 
According to the Los Angeles Times, Bizzy Bone was confronted by several men at a hotel who beat him, choked him and stole his jewelry.
One person named Marlo Jones was arrested in connection with the incident.
The ironic part is that Jones was an employee of a Los Angeles anti-gang organization.
He was hired by the Los Angeles Police Department to help decrease the number of gangs.
It’s obvious the LAPD should be more cautious about who they hire to help reduce gang violence.

American Idols David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell broke up
The American Idol romance has ended for two former contestants. David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell have broken up with each other.
Caldwell’s publicist released a statement saying, “Kimberly and David ended their relationship just before the holidays. The couple remain good friends and being very private people, appreciate their privacy at this time.”
Cook won the American Idol title last year and Caldwell placed 7th during season two.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have named their newborn daughter Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck.
The name is very creative, and it’s not weird at all. They’ve actually chosen a great name. It’s far cry from the name that Lisa Bonet recently gave her newborn baby.
Bonet’s baby is named Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa. Now that’s a tongue twister. Click here to find out why Bonet chose that name for her baby.

The Osbournes are returning to television
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Osborne clan on television when they had their MTV reality show. Now, the family is returning to television with a variety show.
They will be performing skits and impersonations during the show which will air sometime in the spring on the Fox channel.
It sounds like it’s a long way from their MTV show, but it should still be interesting. I’m curious about the state of mind that Ozzy will be in and whether he will exhibit bizarre behavior like he did on the reality show.

President Bush says the government responded quickly during Hurricane Katrina
I typically don’t discuss politics on this Celebrity Blog. However, President Bush is technically a celebrity, and I think its worthy to include him in a blog.
During his final press conference this week, reporters asked President Bush about the government’s slow response during Hurricane Katrina. The president became irritated and said the government acted quickly during the Katrina aftermath.
CNN anchor Campbell Brown took issue with the president’s comments that the government responded quickly. We all remember those images of thousands of New Orleans residents who were stranded and begging for help for several days.
President Bush’s comments just further reinforces that he is out of touch with reality, and he constantly lives in a state of denial.

Amy Winehouse’s drug-addicted inmate husband Blake Fielder-Civil is preparing to file for a divorce from Amy.
He is accusing her of cheating on him.
His attorney told People magazine “I can confirm that I have been instructed to commence divorce proceedings on the grounds of Amy’s adultery.”
Blake is the one who got Amy addicted to drugs, which caused her to possibly ruin her career and walk around high in public, and he has the nerve to be mad about adultery?
He’s got some nerve.

The first transgender cast member on The Real World
If you watched the season premiere of the “The Real World” on MTV, you might have noticed how cast member Katelyn seems a little manish. Well, that’s because she used to be one.
Katelynn made history this season as being the first transgender “Real World” cast member. On the first episode she revealed how she went to Thailand to undergo a sex change operation to become a woman.
This is the 21st season of the “The Real World,” so producers had to change things up to keep people interested in the show, including adding a transgender cast member and having eight cast members total. During previous seasons, there were only seven cast members.

Prince Harry apologizes for racist remarks
Prince Harry issued an apology for making derogatory statements against Arabs. The British newspaper “News of the World” released a videotape this week of the prince making racist remarks.
Harry made the remarks back in 2006 at an airport lounge while he and other soldiers were preparing to travel for their military training. Harry’s fellow cadets videotaped it, and sent it to the newspaper.
On the tape, Harry refers to an Asian person as “our little Paki friend” and he said to another cadet “F*** me, you look like a raghead,” which are considered racist terms.
Harry’s spokesman released a statement that said “Prince Harry fully understands how offensive this term can be, and is extremely sorry for any offense his words might cause. However, on this occasion three years ago, Prince Harry used the term without any malice and as a nickname about a highly popular member of his platoon. There is no question that Prince Harry was in any way seeking to insult his friend.”
The British Army released a statement Jan. 10 that said “Neither the army nor the armed forces tolerates inappropriate behavior in any shape or form. The Army takes all allegations of inappropriate behavior very seriously and all substantive allegations are investigated.”
I don’t know whether Prince Harry is truly racist because I’ve never met him before, and I don’t know what’s in his heart. However, I do know that he has a history of engaging in derogatory behavior.
Back in 2005, he was under scrutiny because he attended a costume party dressed up as a Nazi with swastika armband.
It’s easy to chalk this up to immaturity and poor judgment. But after Harry is done with his military training, he should seriously enroll in a cultural sensitivity training class as well.
Also, Harry released his apology through his spokesperson. He needs to apologize for himself in front of the cameras. He wasn’t camera shy when he was making those derogatory statements, so there is no reason to be camera shy when it comes to apologizing.

Kanye West wants to pose naked
Hip hop star Kanye West says he might pose naked in the future.
In the February issue of Vibe magazine he said, “I made a decision. I wanna make popular music, but I want less fans. I want the freedom of having less fans. It’s like the freedom of having less money. If you have less money, you have less responsibility. It’s like Bjork. If she wanted to pose naked, you’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s Björk.’ But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it. I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I’ll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture.”
I understand that you are one of the most popular rappers in music history, but PLEASE keep your clothes on Kanye. NOBODY wants to see you naked.
