The first transgender cast member on The Real World
If you watched the season premiere of the “The Real World” on MTV, you might have noticed how cast member Katelyn seems a little manish. Well, that’s because she used to be one.
Katelynn made history this season as being the first transgender “Real World” cast member. On the first episode she revealed how she went to Thailand to undergo a sex change operation to become a woman.
This is the 21st season of the “The Real World,” so producers had to change things up to keep people interested in the show, including adding a transgender cast member and having eight cast members total. During previous seasons, there were only seven cast members.
The show airs Wednesdays on MTV. Photos of the cast members are posted below via MTV Web site.

I’m impressed that JD and Ryan saw that Katelynn was transgendered. From the video at least, I couldn’t tell.
