Hayden Panettiere’s father sentenced to probation for assaulting wife
Actress Hayden Panettiere’s father pleaded no contest to assaulting his wife, and he will get probation for two years.
Alan Panettiere was accused of punching his wife in the face. Authorities allege he hit the woman on the cheek back in September.
Let this be a lesson to all of you abusers out there. If you hit your wife, then you will only get probation. Geez, I’m sure that will really be a deterrent.

DMX sentenced to jail for abusing pets
Hip hop star DMX had his day in court, and it wasn’t very pretty.
A judge sentenced him to 90 days in jail on convictions of marijuana possession, theft and animal cruelty.
He will also be put on 18 months probation.
The charges stem from an incident in 2007 when authorities searched his Arizona property and found three dead dogs, marijuana and some pit bulls that were malnourished.
That’s not a humane way to treat your pets.
Considering there were three of his dead pet dogs on his property, I would say he got off lightly if he only has to serve three months in jail.

Disgraced pastor Ted Haggard talks to Oprah
Disgraced pastor Ted Haggard appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show this week along with his wife and children to talk about the incident that brought him down and caused him so much embarrassment.
For those of you who don’t remember, Haggard is the hypocritical pastor who preached against homosexuality, but then it was discovered that he had a sexual relationship with a male prostitute.
He tells Oprah his side of the story, and she holds his feet to the fire. The interview is in the four clips below.

Hatter Potter stuntman seriously injured on movie set
A stunt double for Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe seriously injured his spine while filming a flying stunt scene on the movie set of the latest film “Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows.”
An explosion that was part of the stunt, caused stunt double David Holmes to fall on the ground injuring himself.
Holmes was heard yelling “I can’t feel my legs.” I hope this doesn’t mean he is paralyzed. That would be a tragedy.
Movie stunt doubles can arguably be compared to secret service agents. Their job is to risk their life and perform dangerous stunts to protect the actors from injuries.
I’m not sure if filling in for Daniel Radcliffe is worth it though.

He’s launching a new clothing line titled TK Steelman on Feb. 18 at his I Love This Bar and Grill locsation in Las Vegas.
According to CMT, the clothing line will feature sleeveless shirts, long-sleeve shirt, polo shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts, baseball hats, cowboy hats, bandannas and belts.
They will be sold at various retail stores. He also will have a women’s clothing line which will launch later this year.
Although I support Toby’s entrepreneurial endeavors, you won’t see me wearing any of his clothes. His wardrobe is nowhere near my style. But good luck to him.

Amy Winehouse was robbed
Amy Winehouse’s London home was robbed while she was away vacationing in the Caribbean.
No, the robbers didn’t steal any of her drugs. She probably had those drugs with her while she was in the Caribbean.
Instead, they stole guitars and other recording equipment.
Winehouse’s publicist said her neighbors saw the robbers break into the home, and they called police.

Kelly Rowland fires Beyonce’s dad as her manager
Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland and her manager Matthew Knowles are splitting up.
Rowland announced Jan. 28 that Knowles is no longer her business manager. Knowles is the father of singer/actress Beyonce.
Rowland’s new manager hasn’t been announced, and no reason was given for her split with Knowles, but it’s not hard to figure out.
Knowles also serves as Beyonce’s manager, and he probably focuses more on promoting Beyonce’s career than he does with Rowland’s career.
He’s done a great job with Beyonce’s career because he helped make Beyonce a legendary superstar while Rowland is still stuck in the dust.
Who can blame him? After all, Beyonce is his daughter so it’s natural that he would give her preferential treatment.
Knowles managed Destiny’s Child from the beginning, but Rowland is not the first member to fire Knowles as a manager.
In 1999, two Destiny’s Child members LeToya Luckett and Latavia Roberson tried to fire Knowles as the group’s manager because they claimed he showed favoritism toward Beyonce. They were later kicked out of the group.
The two were replaced with Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin. However, Franklin grew tired of Knowles and left the group a short time later.
Williams is still with Knowles, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up leaving him too.

Guy Ritchie’s father talks trash about Madonna
Guy Ritchie’s father is no fan of his former daughter-in-law Madonna.
In an interview with In Touch Weekly magazine John Ritchie said “The worst thing would be if they reconciled.
“Guy is better off. He’s in the States with the children at the moment. She’s been here with a chap, a friend of hers. We hope she does have a lot of boyfriends because it means she won’t ever get back together with Guy.”
“All they discuss is the children. Guy is generally quite happy with the arrangements, provided the children come to London when he wants them to. If she makes that difficult, he will have to rethink how they are managing custody, but so far she hasn’t.
Although Madonna has bounced back and found another boyfriend–Alex Rodriguez, the father said “Guy doesn’t care at all, ”At least she won’t be looking for him.”
Ouch. Madonna gets verbally slammed by an old man. I hope Madonna’s father responds and says negative comments about Guy Ritchie. The would make it even jucier.

Ashlee Simpson defends Jessica Simpson’s weight gain
The paparazzi and celebrity journalists have been dogging Jessica Simpson during the past week or so because of her apparent weight gain.
Her sister and her fitness training are coming to her defense.
Ashlee Simpson wrote a statement on her blog that said “I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure.”
“All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard. How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Now can we focus on the things that really matter.”
I agree with every word Ashlee said. Yes, Jessica gained a few pounds, but so what? She’s still skinny to me. She might not weigh 100 pounds anymore, but that’s okay.
Her boyfriend Tony Romo doesn’t seem to care about weight, so no one else should either. Besides, everyone’s weight fluctuates from time to time, including mine.

Michael Jackson sued by Thriller director
John Landis, the writer and director of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, is suing the king of pop.
Landis is claming that Jackson never paid him his share of the profits during the past four years.
It’s unknown how much money Landis is asking for becuase it’s not mentioned in the lawsuit.
Although I believe Landis should continue to recieve royalties from his writing and directing services, he should know that Jackson isn’t going to pay him any more money.
Creditors threatened to foreclose on Jackson’s Neverland Ranch last year because he couldn’t pay the bills.
If he can’t afford to pay for Neverland, then he definitely can’t afford to pay Landis.
Landis should probably give up on this lawsuit. Even if he wins, he probably won’t receive anything.
Landis is also famous for directing the cult classic films “The Blues Brothers,” “Three Amigos,” “Coming To America” and “Beverly Hills Cop III.”
