Singer El DeBarge sentenced to prison
Singer El DeBarge is expected to spend two years behind bars after he was arrested in connection with a recent drug bust.
According to TMZ, He will serve his time in the California State Prison after police said they found crack cocaine on him, which was a violation of his probation from a drug case last year.
El DeBarge was a member of the 1980s group DeBarge. Their hit songs included “Rhythm of the Night,” “I Like It” and “Who’s Holding Donna Now.”

El you are more than you music and good looks, you are a young man, yes at 47 you are still a young man with a lot of living to do!!! Yes you have been hurt, and you have hurt others, God has already forgive you, you must forgive yourself, YOU MUST FOR GIVE YOURSELF, stay away from that churchy environment that want you, and give you a front row seat because you are the “great El Debarge” the are just as bad as the drug man that gives you a free rock until your cash comes in OK. El I don’t know your business, did you finish high school, I know you may not have had a chance to do that, my husband made many mistakes, in and out of the music industry, for years, drugs, drink, didn’t finish school because he didn’t have the time when he was a teenager trying to make it in the business, he was broken, wasted, went back originally just to get his GED, then community college, big college, he is now an english teacher, El what I am trying to say is don’t tell nobody, because you know what you will get, vanish, get lost in yourself, awaken, you are probably a genius, use it to help yourself, then others, through education, you have time, put yourself around other sober thinkers, thinkers tend not to judge, you deserve a another chance just like the rest of us.

El I have been a true fan of yours since the beautiful 1980′s I am 46 years old I just saw your profile on t.v. I had no idea you and your sibling lived the life with a monster your own father. Trust me my mother was one too please do not become them I know your pain from the gut how deep it hurts but look El its the old trick of the devil . Even though your dad is some where else you you have allowed the inner u to keep the abuse going by allow yourself to hurt you. I had to learn that for myself precious bless one that u are. I have always thought that EL was one of the most gifted and talented of all the Debarges with they were in the group. he was the LEAD VOICE of them!!! I would have never imagined him getting in any trouble, I always thought of him as the one to get the rest of the family out of trouble. I just knew that all his talent and work in the Music business would keep him out of trouble. i saw him on the Awards show last night and was very happy to see him again. he looked very frail like when I saw Whitney on stage a while back when she was on drugs. I wish he recovers and stays good! he has so much to offer the music all of us and so much talent to offer the music world. he must stay in control!

you, you can STAY CLEAN, and life after all that is SWEET!! Just ASK GOD to help you, BELIEVE in HIM, and not only will he fix our problems, but HE’LL give you the desires of your heart!! A lot of people will tell you what to do, and they never experienced the drugs before, BUT I DID!! I KNOW FIRST HAND!! Everybody’s different, and some people say it’s tough to kick, but it wasn’t for me!! Once I gave it up to GOD, it was easy, AND I’VE BEEN CLEAN FOR 9 YEARS NOW!!! See look at it this way, before your were ever born, God knew you and gave you FAVOR over your life. The devil (Satan) knowing this, he peeped into your future and knew God had so many blessings for you and would use you to help so many people. So Satan sees this and decided to bring the drugs and alcohol in your life to destroy you because he knew God had purpose for your life. However, he forgot that your mother being a STRONG woman of God was praying for you and that you had FAVOR over your life. So the Lord use the drug addiction and prison time for your good by allowing you to get your focus, will power and God given talent of music writing and singing back. Now people all over the world (Praise God) are being healed and set free of drugs and alcohol addictions because they see what the Lord did in you! So what the enemy (Satan) tried to use to destroy you, it has worked out for your GOOD! Thank you for allowing God to use you in this way! There are very few talents out there and you are one of the best. W lost Michael but we still have you. Thank you for being strong and making it back. I love your album and all your music. El you are one lucky man. My beautiful husband was not so lucky. At age 29, he left us because of an overdose of crack cocaine. He left behind a 5 hear old daughter who never forgot him and has been trying to destroy her life ever since. She has no desire to live. Whenever father’s day comes around she feels especially abandoned, because he is not here to celebrate with her.
You El are getting a ‘second chance’ as you say. Your kids can have you back in once piece and you have a chance to put the past behind you and move on.
Enjoy your new life and don’t ever fall off the way again, or you would be the dumbest soul that ever lived.
Don’t ever stop using your GOD given gift.
Just about all I can express is, I’m not sure what to say! Except of course, for the amazing tips that are shared within this blog. I’ll think of a zillion fun ways to read the reports on this site. I’m sure I will eventually take action making use of your tips on those things I could not have been able to handle alone. Sorry to hear about the bad luck that El is having. I’m a fan of the Debarge family grow up listening to their music. I will pray for the Debarge family and El. I want to see him out and on the stage where he belongs. Doing what God put him on this earth to do bless the world with that amazing voice. It really hurts me to see his mug shot on the television, Just stay hopeful and have faith in the almighty Jesus christ himself and everything will fall in place.
