Update: Michael Jackson won’t participate in Jackson 5 reunion
Jermaine Jackson announced this week that the Jackson 5 will be reuniting in 2009 for a tour and a new album.
Jermaine Jackson told the Associated Press that the Jackson family are in the studio recording the album, and little sister Janet will open the show. 
However, his little brother Michael Jackson released a statement saying that he will not be a part of the project.
In the statement Michael said “I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon.”
He went on to say, “My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we’ve certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them.”
The Jackson 5 were the biggest musical group of the 1970s and 1980s. Since they broke up, everyone has been waiting for a reunion.
This is disappointing because you can’t have a Jackson 5 reunion if the lead singer isn’t there.
Michael needs to stop acting so pompous. He needs to join his brothers on this reunion project. He owes it to his fans.

Pro golfer John Daly arrested at Hooters restaurant.
Pro golfer John Daly was arrested at a Hooters restaurant this week for being too drunk.
According to Bloomberg News, Daly was drunk and uncooperative and he refused to leave the restaurant in North Carolina. So, he was taken to jail until he sobered up.
Customers at Hooters are known to get a little rowdy. But Daly took it overboard. Oh well. At least he had fun.
Daly won the B.C. Open in 1992 and was named PGA rookie of the year in 1991.
Billboard Top 10 Songs
Once again, T.I. is dominating the Billboard Top 10 singles charts. He holds the number one and two spot with “Whatever You Like” and “Life Your Life” featuring Rihanna.
Beyonce leaps from number 68 to number three with her new song “If I Were A Boy.” I predict that Beyonce will knock T.I. out of the number one spot within the next couple of weeks.
Lil Wayne is still on the charts with ”Let It Rock” along with Kevin Rudolf. Lil Wayne has been somewhere in the top 10 during the past several months.
Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” is at number 10, and even though that song kinda sounds a little corny, it’s very catchy, and I find myself singing along to it when I hear it on the radio.

The legendary group AC/DC debuted at number one this week with their latest CD “Black Ice.”
High School Musical 3 soundtrack came in number this week, and by the way, if I find out who actually bought that High School Musical CD, I will make fun of them for eternity.
Surprisingly, the gospel duo Mary Mary comes in at number seven with “The Sound.” It’s very rare to see a gospel group in the top 10 on Billboard.

Janet Jackson concert review
Janet Jackson performed her Rock Witchu concert during the weekend at the Bank of Oklahoma Center in Tulsa.
She had recently postponed several concerts throughout the country due to an illness. So prior to the concert, I admit, I was nervous about whether she would become ill again, or whether she would be healthy enough to put on a good show.
As soon as she walked onto the stage and began performing, my fears were to put rest.
Donning a Mohawk hairstyle, Janet opened the show with her 1987 hit “What Have You Done For Me Lately.” She then performed a few recognizable songs including “You Want This,” “Alright” and “Miss You Much.”
Afterward Janet did a brief costume change and returned to the stage in a sultry red dress to perform a string of ballads including “Come Back To Me” “Again” and “Lets Wait Awhile.”
After another wardrobe change, she came back out to perform a mixture of old and new songs including “So Excited” “Together Again” “Nasty Boys,” “Escape” “Thats The Way Love Goes” “Love” and “Rhythm Nation.
When it came time to perform her duets with Nelly, Q-Tip and Dave Navarro, the three musicians appeared on a pre-recorded video and performed their verses while Janet sang on stage.
The concert concluded with the hit song “Runaway” from her “Design Of A Decade” greatest hits album.
Throughout the show she mostly performed her greatest hits with a little material from her recent album “Discipline.”
I was fortunate to sit in the fifth row, where I could get the full Miss Jackson experience up close and personal.
Despite the fact that she is 42-years-old, Janet still gave a high energy performance from start to finish. She danced during the entire show, and her choreography was on point.
She put Britney, Beyonce and Usher to shame. Janet has officially solidified herself as the queen.
Janet’s next show will be Nov. 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The eight shows that were canceled during the past month will be rescheduled.

Actor Joaquin Phoenix is retiring from movies
Joaquin Phoenix announced that he is retiring from making movies–and he’s only 34 years old.
In an interview with Extra, the actor said he won’t make anymore movies because he only wants to focus on his music career.
I’m willing to bet $1 million that he won’t stay retired for long.
I’m not passing judgement on his musical talent, but just because he did a great job portraying Johnny Cash in the “Walk The Line” movie doesn’t necessarily mean he can become a great singer.
If he wants to do music on the side like Bruce Willis does, that fine. But don’t retire from movies and become a full-time musician for the rest of your life.
I’m sure very few people will actually buy his CD.

Singer El DeBarge sentenced to prison
Singer El DeBarge is expected to spend two years behind bars after he was arrested in connection with a recent drug bust.
According to TMZ, He will serve his time in the California State Prison after police said they found crack cocaine on him, which was a violation of his probation from a drug case last year.
El DeBarge was a member of the 1980s group DeBarge. Their hit songs included “Rhythm of the Night,” “I Like It” and “Who’s Holding Donna Now.”
Jennifer Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew found dead
Oscar winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson’s mother was shot and killed Friday, and police said they found the missing body of her 7-year-old nephew.
Authorities discovered her mother and brother’s dead bodies in a Chicago home Oct. 24.
Authorities have taken into custody a man named William Balfour. At time of the killings, Balfour was on parole for attempted murder and hijacking a vehicle.
The body of the 7-year-old was found in an SUV.
Isiah Thomas overdosed on sleeping pills
All Isiah Thomas wanted was a good nights sleep.
The former NBA star was hospitalized for overdosing on sleeping pills. According to MSNBC, he was unconscious when medical workers transported him to the hospital.
Last season he was fired as head coach for the New York Nicks after he was found guilty of sexually harassing a former employee.
Maybe he took the sleeping pills so he can escape his problems, or maybe he took the pills because he was tired and he wanted to sleep…forever.

Miss Louisiana Teen USA winner arrested for not paying her restaurant bill
The Miss Louisiana Teen USA winner has taught all restaurant diners a valuable lesson–pay your bill or you could end up behind bars.
Lindsey Evans was arrested after she ate at a restaurant with a group of friends and then left without paying the $47 bill.
This proves what I have been saying all along–beauty pageant winners are full of bull. They claim they want to bring “world peace” and cure world hunger
According to TMZ, Evans forgot her purse at the restaurant, and when she returned to retrieve it, the cops were waiting for her.
As a result of the arrest, pageant officials are stripping away the crown for her, even though her term expires in nine days.
This proves my point of what I have been saying about beauty pageant winners all along–they are full of bull.

Update: Britney Spears’ case dismissed
The jury in the Britney Spears trial ended up being hung. Britney was on trial for driving
without a license.
The jury began deliberating on Friday, but after a few days, they couldn’t reach a decision
on whether Britney is innocent or guilty. So, the judge declared the case a mistrial Tuesday.
Britney was on trial accused of driving without a drivers license when she was involved in a minor traffic accident
Why is jury even involved an a drivers license case? Shouldn’t they be involved in murder, rape, assault, fraud and robbery trials.
A drivers license case should never involve a jury. The judge should have decided this trial from the start.

Nick Hogan is out of jail
Hulk Hogan’s son Nick has been released from jail.
Hogan was released from a Florida jail after spending 166 days locked up for causing a car wreck that seriously injured his passenger and friend John Graziano.
Nick Hogan starred in the VH1 reality Hogan Knows Best” where cameras followed his family around. His sister Brooke now has her own reality show on Vh1 as well.
I’ll bet $1,000 that Nick will get his reality show on that network too, and they’ll document his post-jail life.

A Power Ranger actor convicted of murder
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers actor Skylar Deleon was used to destroying villains on that tv show, but now he is accused of destroying the lives of three people–by killing them.
Deleon, 29, was convicted of killing an Arizona husband and wife as well as a California man by slitting his throat.
His attorney gave several excuses in the courtroom, saying that Deleon had a horrible life, and he had a father who abused him.
Lil Wayne is having a baby
Rapper Lil Wayne will soon become a Lil Daddy.
While accepting a trophy at the BET Hip Hop awards, Lil Wayne told the crowd that he is expecting a son anytime soon.
No one knew he was getting ready to have a baby, and no one knows who the mother is either.
If he’s going to mention that he is having kid, the least he could have done is tell us who the baby mamma is.
The BET Hip Hop awards will run Thursday on the BET network.

Soul Train creator Don Cornelius arrested
Soul Train legend Don Cornelius was arrested this weekend accused of domestic violence.
According to TMZ, some notified police about a domestic disturbance at a Los Angeles home Friday. Police responded and arrested Cornelius.
He was released from jail on $50,000 bail. Cornelius hosted Soul Train from 1971 to 1996.
This is shocking if this turns out to be true. The guy is 72 years old. Who knew he could still fight like that?
Celebrity Feud: Ne-Yo versus Yung Berg
Another feud is heating up in the hip hop community.
R&B singer Ne-Yo appeared on a radio show, and he said he wanted slap rapper Yung Berg for making that song named “The Business.”
Ne-Yo claims that Yung Berg copied T-Pain and Lil Wayne’s musical style by doing that song.
When Yung Berg heard those comments, he retaliated by questioning Ne-Yo’s sexuality. He even referred to Ne-Yo as “Miss Independent,” which happens to be the the name of Ne-Yo’s new song.
Ne-Yo recently told MTV that he’s not interested in getting into a feud with Yung Berg or anyone else.
He said, “That ain’t my lane, dude. I don’t beef. I don’t do that. That ain’t my thing. I don’t do dis records. I don’t do beef. I don’t do any of that blogs talking about cats. I don’t do that. That ain’t my thing. I’m a grown man. I got money to make.”
I think it’s funny how Ne-Yo all of sudden says he doesn’t dis anybody, when in fact, he’s the one who started the feud in the first place with his negative comments about Yung Berg.

Colin Powell does a hip hop dance
It looks like Colin Powell finally showed off his black side. (It’s about time). The former secretary of state stepped on stage during the Africa Rising concert in London.
Nigerian group named Olu Maintain performed and Powell busted out into a spontaneous hip hop dance. Then he started to a John Travolta type of dance as well.
I just wish Colin Powell was this laid back whenever he was actually serving in the White House. Another photo of Powell dancing is below.

American Idol contestant says Simon Cowell made her drug addiction worse
Season one American Idol contestant Nikki McKibbin says she used to be a drug addict and an alcoholic, and she suffereed from depression, and Idol judge Simon Cowell is to blame.
In an interview with US Weekly, McKibbin says Simon’s cruel comments affected her.
She said, “I came out of Idol with a lack of self-confidence. I think I had my first solo in school when I was 5, and I got more as I got older: That’s the biggest compliment in choir. I had never been told I wasn’t good enough. Having to hear it for so many weeks from Simon Cowell killed me inside. I couldn’t get the s–t he had said to me out of my head. It drove me deeper into my depression. I wouldn’t say that this was Simon’s fault. It just added to the addict that I already was.”
McKibbin placed third on the first season of American Idol. She did receive alot of harsh criticism from Simon, but she wasn’t the only one. Simon is harsh toward alot of contestants.
Although Simon’s comments are usually cruel, he is not responsible for any of her addictions. I think she might be using him as an excuse.

DJ AM finds silver lining with plane crash
There’s always a silver lining in every cloud. DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) has found a positive side when it comes to his plane crash incident in which he received burns to his body.
He told People magazine when doctors examined him after the plane crash, they found a blood clot that could have potentially traveled to his heart and he could have died.
The blood clot was caused from flying too much.
He said he currently has 2 million frequent flier miles from whenever he flies back and forth to perform at clubs across the country.
David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are separated
David Duchovny and his wife Tea Leoni released a statment admitting that they have been separated for several months, but they wanted to keep it a secret for the sake of their two children.
Keep in mind, back in August, Duchovny released a statement saying that he was entering into a sex rehab center to treat his addiction to sex. (click here for more info)
If this couple is so concerned about their children, they probably should have kept his sex addiction rehab a secret as wel, instead of announcing it to the public.

Desperate Housewife star injured in motorcycle crash
One of the new “Desperate Housewives” stars Gale Harold has turned into a desperate hospital patient. Harold is in criticial condition in the hospital after a motorcycle accident.
According to the Associated Press, the actor is in intensive care unit at a Los Angeles hospital. His spokeswoman said he had some swelling on the brain, but he should be okay.
I don’t watch the show, so I have no idea who this guy is, but hopefully he will make a full recovery.

Kevin Costner and wife are expected a baby
Actor Kevin Costner and his wife designer Christine Baumgartner have announced that they are expecting their second child together.
That’s all I’m going to say on this topic because no one really cares about this couple, and I certainly don’t either.

Britney Spears is officially back.
Her new single “Womanizer” jumped from number 96 to number one this week on the Billboard charts making it the highest jump in Billboard charts history.
After rapper T.I. held a monopoly over the number one spot for several weeks in a row, it seems that Spears was the only one who could knock him out of the top spot.
Other new faces on the charts this week is Ne-Yo with his song “Miss Independent.”
