Lindsay Lohan turns down Playboy
Actress Lindsay Lohan rejected Playboy magazine’s offer to pose naked for the cover of the magazine’s 55th anniversary edition.
They offered her $700,000, but she turned it down. Playboy must be going downhill if they tried to put Lindsay Lohan about doing a naked pictorial.k
For the 55th anniversary, you would think they would try to get someone like Tyra Banks, Jessica Simpson, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Jessica Biel or anybody besides Lindsay.
I think I’m going to cancel my subscription now.
MTV Video Music Awards
The MTV Video Music Awards will be held Sunday (Sept. 7) and all eyes will once again be on Britney Spears as she is expected to open the show although she won’t be performing. What will she do this time? Will she woo the crowd or will it be disaster like last year?
The musicians scheduled to perform include Christina Aguilera, Jonas Brothers, Kid Rock, T.I. and Pink
Here are the nominees for the video categories, along with my predictions of who I think will win.
Best Rock Video
- “Beat It” by Fallout boy;
- “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters
- “Shadow of the Day” by Linkin Park
- “Crushcrushcrush” by Paramore
- “Psychosocial” by Slipknot
My Prediction: “Shadow of the day” by Linkin Park. This is a virtual tie between Linkin Park and Fallout Boy. Both of the videos are great, but I’m going to flip a coin and say that Linkin Park will take home the trophy for this award.
Best Hip Hop Video
- “Just Fine” by Mary J. Blige
- “Superstar” by Lupe Fiasco
- “Low” by Flo Rida
- “Lollipop” by Lil Wayne
- “Homecoming” by Kanye West
My Prediction: “Lollipop” by Lil Wayne. The video is flashy and over-the-top, and it’s set in Las Vegas. It features alcohol, limousines, partying and beautiful women. You can’t go wrong with that. Plus, Lil Wayne is the top rapper on the scene right now. I think he is a shoe-in for this award.

- “Burnin Up” by Jonas Brothers
- “Nine in the Afternoon” by Panic at the Disco
- “Piece of Me” by Britney Spears
- “Ready, Set, Go,” by Tokio Hotel
My Prediction: “Burnin Up” by Jonas Brothers. Despite Danity Kane being far more sexier, I still think voters will give the award Jonas Brothers. This group is very popular among, and they are dominating the airwaves right now.
Best Dancing in a Video
- “Forever” by Chris Brown
- “Damaged” by Danity Kane
- “4 Minutes” by Madonna and Justin Timberlake
- “Closer” by Ne-Yo
- “When I Grow Up” by Pussycat Dolls
My Prediction: “Forever” by Chris Brown. By far, Chris Brown is the best dancer out of this bunch. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave this award to the Pussycat Dolls. Also, Justin Timberlake can definitely hold his own, but consider the fact that he’s dancing with Madonna in this video. Madonna is a 50 years old now, and she’s a lot slower than she used to be.

My Prediction: “Lollipop” by Lil Wayne. Once Again, I think Lil Wayne will be victorious in the category. Usher’s video is good too, but it just lacks some of the attractive elements that “Lollipop” has.
Best Female Video
- “Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey
- “I Kissed a Girl” by Katy Perry
- “Take a Bow” by Rihanna
- “No Air” by Jordin Sparks
- “Piece of Me” by Britney Spears
My Prediction: “Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey. Yes, I know Rihanna is the hot new thing on the music scene right now, but I still think Mariah will take this category hands down. The video has a lot of creativity, and she is still the queen of music.

- “I Kissed a Girl” by Katy Perry
- “No Air” by Jordin Sparks
- “Tears on My Guitar” by Taylor Swift
- “Ready Set Go” by Tokio Hotel
My prediction: “I Kissed A Girl” by Katy Perry. Although I wouldn’t count Miley Cyrus out, I am still going say that Katy Perry will win this category. The song is about girl-on-girl lip action, and I think that appeals to the MTV audience more than anything that Miley Cyrus does.

My Prediction: “Burnin Up” by Jonas Brothers. There’s a chance Chris Brown could win this category, but I honestly think that Jonas Brothers has the best chances. People like them for whatever reason.

Oprah’s mother sued
Oprah Winfrey’s mother is being sued for $150,000.
Valentina clothing store is accusing her mom Vernita Lee of racking up $150,000 in unpaid clothing purchases since 2004.
Although most of you are probably blaming Vernita, but I on the other hand, think it’s all Oprah’s fault. Oprah gives money to everyone. She gives it to charity, she gives away free cars and other extravagant gifts to her audience members.
The least she could do is pay off her mother’s $150,000 bill. Since Oprah is a billionaire, that $150,000 is like $1.50 to her.

Jonas Brothers will have a tv show
As if we haven’t had enough of the Jonas Brothers already, they have announced that they will have their very own comedy television show on the Disney Channel.
The group will begin working on the show after their done with their tour.
I think the Jonas Brothers are having a competition with Miley Cyrus over who can become the most over exposed musician.

Usher preparing for a tour
In an interview with the Associated Press, superstar singer Usher said he is rehearsing for his upcoming “One Night Stand” concert tour. He tells reporters that the tour will be for the ladies.
I think it’s a mistake to bill the concert as “Ladies Only.” That means only females will pay money to attend his concert, which means he’s ignoring half of the population, which means he will probably sell a lot less concert tickets since the male population is not invited.
Not a very smart move. No wonder his latest CD has fallen off the charts so fast.

R. Kelly ordered to pay Ne-Yo $700,320
R&B singer R. Kelly has been ordered by a court to pay singer Ne-Yo $700,320.
Ne-Yo filed a lawsuit against R. Kelly after he dropped Ne-Yo as the opening act on his tour.
Ne-Yo claimed that R. Kelly dismissed him from the tour because Ne-Yo received better praise from the critics and the fans.
Yes, R. Kelly got away with having sexual relations on videotape with an underage girl, but he sure didn’t get away with trying to get over on Ne-Yo.

Elton John and Lily Allen feud
I think it’s safe to say that Lily Allen and Elton John don’t like each other.
The two celebrities hosted the GQ Men of the Year awards show. Lily appeared to have been a little drunk during the show and Elton commented by saying, “What, you are going to have another drink?”
Lily didn’t appreciate that comment, so she replied, ”F*** off Elton. I’m 40 years younger than you. I have my whole life ahead of me.”
Elton then said, “I could still snort you under the table.”
Wow. I hate to choose sides, but I’m going to go with Elton on this one. Most people don’t even know who Lily Allen is. She probably shouldn’t be picking fights with a legend like Elton John.
