Lindsay Hodges

Lindsay Hodges is NewsOK.com’s Web editor and has worked for NewsOK since May 2007.

Lindsay is a British citizen from Surrey, England, living and working in Oklahoma City after obtaining her journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma in May 2007 and marrying an Oklahoman.

Her teenage years were spent working at a garden center getting muddy where she failed to develop the green thumb with plants that she had hoped for. She did, however, learn a great deal about how much we take the beauty of our environment for granted and that we have to actively work to get good results in nature.

Micah Gamino

Micah Gamino is a business reporter for The Oklahoman’s myEdmond section.

He, his wife and 1-year-old daughter live in an Oklahoma City home powered completely by wind energy.

Nick Trougakos

Nick Trougakos is the Assistant Metro Editor at The Oklahoman.

He arrived at the paper in 2002 after a stint at the Oklahoma City bureau of the Associated Press.

He reported on the military, federal and county courts and breaking news before becoming an editor in 2005. He hasn’t had the opportunity to cover environmental issues, but has been very interested in the cause since his son was born 2 1/2 years ago.

At his wife’s urging, they undertook several green changes in hopes of leaving the planet a better place for their son and his children.

Nick admits he is now hooked on the cause, and proudly so.

He hopes to be able to blog about some of the things that his family does on a daily basis to do their part, and hopes people enjoy reading.

Matthew Clayton

Graphic Designer in the art department.

Graduate of Oklahoma State University.

Matt has been attempting to go green for several years, but it’s been a long process to get things done the right way all the time.

Lisa Janssen

Lisa is an intern in the video department and a senior at the University of Oklahoma majoring in journalism with a minor in Spanish.

She is from Oklahoma City, 21 years old and in her spare time she likes to do pilates, read, play with her pug and drive her hybrid (which gets her great street cred!).

Lindsey Johnson

Lindsey Johnson is a Custom Publishing writer and editor at The Oklahoman, where she’s had a desk for two years. Her main project is managing content for LOOKatOKC. Prior to her work at The Oklahoman, Lindsey lived in Durango, Colo., for just shy of 5 years, which was mostly an extended vacation with a job. Prior to that she earned a degree in professional writing from the University of Oklahoma.

She now lives in eastern Oklahoma county with her husband and two daughters.

She spent her childhood watching Marty Stouffer’s “Wild American” and idolized Jacques Cousteau. She has a love for playing outside and getting dirty. She believes there is nothing better in the world than the taste of a warm tomato right off the vine in your own backyard. She hopes that when her two daughters are old they can watch their grandchildren run barefoot through the front yard on a summer evening catching fireflies. This motivates her to research and be involved in sustainability issues, which she hopes to share and learn about in this blog.

John Sutter

John Sutter is the environment reporter at The Oklahoman.

He returned to the paper in 2008 after leaving to work as a journalist in Madagascar, which is one of the world’s biodiversity hot spots. He first started writing for The Oklahoman in 2005.

John was born in Oklahoma City. He has degrees in international studies and journalism from Emory University in Atlanta.
