Edmond’s city-owned electric utility recently announced Edmond-based Red Rock Builders as their partner in creating the Edmond Electric Energy Efficient Home, or E4-Home.
The two entities plan to use the home, once built, to educate the public on the affordability of adding energy-efficient features to a home.
“Efficiency and amenities should be affordable and able to coexist in a home,” Bob Corff, Edmond Electric’s energy service manager, told The Oklahoman earlier this year. “It’s just a matter of showing people that it’s possible and that it doesn’t have to break the pocketbook to do it.”
Red Rock Builders is partnered with Edmond-based Turner & Company. The company builds custom homes in the Edmond and Oakdale school districts. Some of their projects include mid to upper-range residential homes, acreage estates, cottage communities and office buildings, the company’s Web site says.
Red Rock Builder Brian Turner said he plans to meet with Corff later this week to discuss design plans for the project.
