If you haven’t heard of twitter.com, check it out before reading the rest of this post. Here’s a video that can help you. It’s basically a site where users all over the world answer the question: What are you doing? The homepage is frantic and kind of scary, but users can pick different people they want to follow, which kind of calms things down.
Anyway, some guy named Andy (see his twitter page here) is using twitter to track his home energy use. Each time he turns lights on or off, he’s rigged his home energy system to post a “tweet” on twitter.

I guess it’s easier to save energy if the whole world can watch your efforts.

This just in: Twitter to save energy by crashing the server every 12 minutes!
That is not real but should be. I don’t know if I can follow him though as I try to keep my monitor turned off and unplugged as often as possible.
