Apps can help you lose weight, get fit in the New YearStore
The Oklahoman’s Sonya Colberg wrote about health and fitness apps for your smart phone or computer in today’s Oklahoman. She mentions several that might help get your resolution jump-started, although fitness trainers cautioned that apps aren’t the answer to all of our out-of-shape woes. Check out her interesting story on NewsOK “Is the app an answer to a better you?”
Apps mentioned in her story, along with corresponding links to the iTunes Store if available, include: “MapMyRun,” on iTunes here or a free version, “Nike Training Camp” (on iTunes, there is a Nike GPS app) “iFitness,” “Couch to 5K” “Lose It,” “Calorie Counter,” “Weight Watchers,” “Nutrition Genius” and “New Year’s Buzzer.”
Many of these apps are available on other mobile platforms, and many work on the iPod Touch, so check them out for your own kind of smart phone or mobile device, whether BlackBerry, Android or iPhone.
May your 2011 be App-y!

Lillie-Beth-
Krammy, my husband, uses the Lose It app on his iPhone and he has lost twenty pounds. I’m super proud of him and hoping to join in to lose some of this baby weight.
Love you,
