I'm ecstatic Chuy's is coming to the Metro. I have lived in Austin since 2003, but go to college in Oklahoma City. I'm sure it will be like having a taste of home.

A very good choice on these films, especially 'Soul Kitchen'. I'm surprised to learn that this film is popular in the United States too..

Been eating at Chuy's for 20 years and love it. I was in Scotland a few years ago, wearing a Chuy's shirt & a guy came up to me & said, "I love Chuy's! Love the creamy jalapeno dip!". So cool! The Dot's, the stacked blue corn enchilada's, the creamy jalapeno and all those delicious sauces will be a welcome change to what Oklahoma is used to!! Ted's will not be able to compete with great, FRESH Tex-Mex!

Loved Chuy's in Austin and so excited to find out they'll be in Norman. The food is delicious and the atmostphere was great. I don't understand the obsession with Ted's very average Mexican food and way above average prices. People will still go to Ted's because the don't know any better, but I'll definitely be at Chuy's when I'm in the mood for Tex-Mex. And they have hilarious t-shirts. My husband has one he's still wearing and gets big laughs everytime.

I had my second apple, cheese & raisin jaffle today. I had the first one for lunch Tuesday and they weren't going to have any of the salads ready until later that day - the jaffle was warm, toasty and delicious! It was so good I had another one today with the Indonesian rice salad - Wow! I am not a vegetarian but do really enjoy eating things that are both healthy and delicious! That is unexpected at a festival or fair. After reading all Dave's raves about the Tequila bread pudding even before I saw where it was the grand prize winner, I got one and took it back to my office for later. Even without the ice cream, it was a winner and I don't normally go for bread pudding.

I tried the hummus jaffle today, and I am in love. Asked them to give me half Indonesian rice salad and half tabouli and they were very accommodating. Both were super tasty. Seriously considering moving to Australia right now, but will probably just get a sandwich maker, since it's undoubtedly cheaper. Since I had to come back and write today, I skipped the heavier desserts and went with just Italian ice, which was very refreshing. But I'll have to put the fried peaches on my to-try list for the weekend. I love the festival!

David, thanks for this recipe, I can't wait to try it. My only question is about the mushrooms. Are they supposed to be dried mushrooms or not?

Thanks! -Jim
