As a raw food enthusiast I am overjoyed by this new oasis of taste and culture finding a home in Oklahoma. You are right: "...the atmosphere is a far cry from the old health food store your mother or grandmother frequented in the 1970s". It's about time. Health conscious lifestyles have been marginalized and bogged down by the tired old beans and rice stereotype for too many decades.

I stopped in at 105 this last Sunday for a peek at the menu, and a quick appetizer and smoothie. I was initially struck by the level of sophisticated sustainability: glass straws, bamboo surfaces, etc. The open kitchen and beverage bar make the experience inspirational and inviting, and will play indispensable roles in the success of the restaurant.

The sushi was fantastic; exponentially better than regular vegetarian sushi with cooked rice. The Cocoaberry smoothie with fresh berries, coconut butter, maca powder, almond milk and cocoa nibs was out of this world (even though the bartenders were still learning all proportions and ingredients). I can hardly wait to get back there to try everything else on the menu.

What I appreciate most about 105 Degrees (beside the WOW factors of taste and presentation) is that their level of professionalism, confidence, and knowledge of raw food, can by their inspirational example, galvanize a paradigm shift. The effects of a 60% raw diet are enough to motivate even the most cynical. No proselytizing necessary.
