Fashionistas kept hoping it would happen. Now it seems it will.
Zac Posen will be the next designer of Target’s Go International series, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Posen, 29, who has a flair for dramatic creations, has dressed Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez.
WWD says Posen’s limited-edition Go International collection will be available at most Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from April 25 through May 30.
Since 2007, Go International, which focuses on young or emerging designers, has, featured Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon and Tracy Feith. Next month, Target will introduce Rodarte, the collection designed by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy.
Prices for Posen’s Target collection haven’t been announced, but previous Go collections have been in the $14.99 to $149.99 range, WWD said. Posen’s own collection is priced from $900 to $12,000, with custom pieces fetching upward of $20,000.
Along with Go International, Target also has a program called Designer Collaborations that features established designers who draw inspiration from a collaborative partner, muse or creative element. Alexander McQueen was the inaugural Designer Collaboration in March. Anna Sui bowed in September.
Rodarte Go International collection coming to Target
Just when you think Target’s Go International series can’t get any better, it does.
Rodarte, designed by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, will launch a 55-piece, limited-edition collection at most Target stores and on target.com on Dec. 20. The collection will be available through Feb. 6.
While it may be hard to imagine translating Rodarte’s hand-wrought designs for the mass market, Target claims to have stayed true to the spirit of the luxury-priced label, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
“What you’ll notice is an amazing eye for detail,” said Joshua Thomas, a Target spokesman. “It’s very feminine, yet very modern. The collection incorporates a rich mix of patterns and fabrications and everything from sequins and bows to faux fur. The key with Rodarte is layering.”
Prices will range from $9.99 for knee-highs to $79.99 for a leopard print jacket.
“There are stand-alone pieces and pieces that can be worn together to create an ensemble by layering different patterns, textures and prints,” Thomas told WWD.”
Go International was introduced in 2006 to focus on young or emerging designers. The lineup has included Thakoon, Erin Fetherston and Tracy Feith. Another limited-edition series called Designer Collaborations feeatures designers who draw inspiration from a collaborative partner, muse or creative element. Alexander McQueen’s designs launched in March and Anna Sui will be on store racks on Sept. 13.
Tracy Feith for Target … cute dress alert
I bought this Tracy Feith for Target dress for my daughter Stephanie. It has a hood, is darling and not nearly as short as it is on this model. It’s a lot of fashion punch for $24.99.
The limited-edition collection for GO International will be in stores through June 20. FYI: The pieces look so much cuter in person than they do in the pictures.

Wiggle your pedicured piggies into these metallic sandals
We were photographing spring clothes last week, and the model pulled out of her shoe bag the cutest pair of pewter wedge sandals. “Do these look like Target shoes?” she asked.
Not hardly, and that’s not a slam against Target shoes. These are big time stylish and fashion forward. Since I had to go to Target that evening (honest, I really needed a can of L’Oreal Elnett hairspray), I looked for the shoes. Only had two pairs left, so that should be a pretty good endorsement. I did see plenty of other smart styles, too.
Online comments are very favorable about this shoe. Even the faux leather looks good. The wedge sandals cost $29.99, and I must say this picture doesn’t do them justice. They look so much better in person. My only hang-up is that I prefer leather.
Check out this other cute sandal by Mossimo. I hope the weather cooperates this week. It’s time to get out of closed-in pumps and into strappy sandals.
