Have you tried Maybelline Pulse Perfection mascara?

Has anyone tried the new vibrating mascara by Maybelline?

I’ve tried dozens of mascaras, but my favorite is L’Oreal Voluminous. I go back to it every time, but I’m always willing to try something new.

The new Pulse Perfection by Define-A-Lash looks interesting. The brush vibrates 7,000 times per sroke.

Of course, the idea isn’t new. Lancome introduced its Oscillation last fall and Estee Lauder’s TurboLash created a buzz a year ago. At $30, I wasn’t too eager to buy into the buzz for those two products. But at $15, I may give Maybelline a try.

I’ve never been a fan of Maybelline mascara, but maybe this one will be different.

So, have you tried the new Pulse Perfection mascara. If so, share your comments.

L’Oreal Voluminous mascara … always a winner

L'Oreal Voluminous mascara

L'Oreal Voluminous mascara

L’Oreal Voluminous, my favorite mascara,  has been named best inexpensive mascara by InStyle magazine. I’ve been touting this mascara for years.

Here’s what the magazine had to say — A staple in virtually every makeup kit in Hollywood, this mascara’s “dense black” formula and “easy to maneuver” brush emphasize even the tiniest lash, says Rachel Goodwin, who works with Penelope Cruz and Hilary Duff.

Voluminious retails for about $8.

Is your favorite mascara on a “best” list?

I love L’Oreal Voluminous mascara.  When the “best of” mascara lists come out, I sometimes try one of the much-touted brands, but  I always go back to L’Oreal.  My next favorite is Dior Diorshow, even though it’s almost four times more expensive than Voluminous.

Now comes Sephora’s list of its eight most popular mascaras.  Is your favorite on the list? Here they are:

* Lancome Oscillation Fibrating Infinite, $34.

* Bare Escentuals, $18.

* Dior Diorshow, $24.

* Sephora Stretcher, $16.

* Benefit BADgal Waterproof, $19.

* Lorac Special Effects primer plus mascara, $22.

* Clinique High Impact Curling, $14.

* Imju Fiberwig tiny Sniper, $15.

Let MAC dazzle you with its new mascara

macdazzlelash.jpg       MAC is ready to dazzle you with its newest mascara.

Dazzle Lash features a new smaller brush that separates each lash. The spring loaded attachment keeps each brush fiber separated to prevent clumping while providing plenty of volume and lift.

The cost: $12. This mascara, available in Black Dazzle and Star Brunette, is a permanent addition to the MAC lineup.

Feel the buzz: Lancome’s new vibrating mascara in stores on Wednesday

Get ready, mascara lovers. Lancome’s new battery-powered vibrating mascara, Oscillation, goes on sale Wednesday.

The mascara coats lashes 360 degrees for what the company calls the most fabulous fringe ever.

oscillation6.jpg

More than 13,000 beauty fans are already on the waiting list. A limited first-edition supply of Oscillation was available in July and all pieces sold out in one day.

Lancome says the mascara leaves lashes looking extraordinarily extended, separated and multiplied. Simply comb through lashes and get ready for the transformation.

Oscilation is available at all Lancome counters and lancome-usa.com. I checked with the Lancome counter at Dillard’s, Penn Square, and the sales associates are ready to start selling Oscillation first thing Wednesday morning. You can pre-order today if you want to ensure that you get a tube.

Lancome decided to introduce a limited supply of Oscillation in July after Estee Lauder debuted TurboLash ($30) with a vibrating brush that promised to thicken, lengthen and curl lashes.

If you’ve tried either Oscillation or TurboLash, share your thoughts.  Does it live up to the hype? No one wants to pay $30 for a mascara if it doesn’t deliver long, luscious lashes. And it better not smudge either.
