Macy’s Overcharged!
Shopper beware!
If you shopped at Macy’s on Dec. 20 between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m., there is a chance you could have been overcharged on your debit card.
Apparently, theses “transactions” took place in some Macy’s stores in the the company’s central and eastern divisions.
A Macy’s spokesman said the multiple debits to checking accounts were caused by a “systems issue.”
“The glitch affected less than one half of 1% of transactions during the two hour period,” said a Macy’s spokesperson to CNN Money.
Check your account balances to be sure of no such error. If you find an error, seek help by faxing your statement to Macy’s, at (513) 573-2433, with your account number blacked out, to the attention of “Third Party Credit.”
Customers who paid with credit cards were not affected.
