Mary Kay introduces new tinted lip balm
I use lip balm almost every night. Burt’s Bees is on my vanity; a Chapstick variety is in the cabinet.
I’ve tried tinted lip balms for day, but for whatever reason, I don’t use them regularly. Now comes one that I think I’ll try. Mary Kay has announced new Tinted Lip Balms with SPF 15, available in five colors –Blush, Poppy, Natural, Rose and Apricot.
What’s more, the balm’s botanically-enriched formula is packed with lip-loving ingredients such as jojoba oil and shea butter which soothe and hydrate your pucker all while creating a shine-enhanced lip tint.
Cost is $13. Call your favorite Mary Kay consultant or go online to marykay.com.

Think pink … and win a makeup bag of goodies
Makeup experts agree that pink lipstick can give women a more youthful appearance. In my story in today’s Life section, I talked with local makeup artists who share their thoughts about pink and even their suggestions about specific brands and shades that look good on different skin tones. Read my story here.
In honor of pink, I’m giving away one makeup bag of Max Factor cosmetics filled with three pink lipsticks in varying shades, 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper, Mineral Blush in Roses and a blush brush, and two bottles of Color Genius Foundation with minerals in Happy No. 1 and Natural No. 3.
To enter our drawing, send an e-mail to fashionmatters@opubco.com. Include your name and mailing address. We’ll select one lucky winner. Deadline to enter the drawing is May 8.
Drew Barrymore … a vision in pink lipstick

Drew Barrymore, a cast member in "Grey Gardens," arrives at the premiere in Los Angeles.
I’m loving pink lipstick these days. Makeup artists say it makes you look more youthful. I’m all for that. Watch for a story on pink lipstick soon in the Life section. I just wanted to share this picture of Drew Barrymore … in pink lipstick. I even like how she channeled the ’80s with that big hair.
In search of the new Revlon long-wearing lipstick
I’m heading out this weekend in search of the new Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick that I blogged about earlier this week. The lipstick is designed to give women 12 hours of
“food proof” color in only one application. I’m eager to try the pink and coral colors. Anyway, I’m working on a story about pink lipstick, how it’s flattering to so many different skin tones AND it can make you look 10 years younger. That’s all I needed to know. I am so all about pink now!
Revlon introduces new ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick
I’ve never been a fan of long-wearing lipsticks, but I may give a new lineup from Revlon a try. The new Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick is designed to give women 12 hours of “food proof” color in only one application.
The lipstick is available in 20 colors and frosted shades and retails for $10.99. Long-wearing lipsticks have lost some of their appeal, partly because they tend to be drying to the lips. And until now, most long-wearing lipsticks had two steps and always required a top coat. “This is the only one-step product that has it all,” said Annete Falso, Revlon’s vice president of product development.
That fact that it doesn’t require a top coat is enough to grab my attention. Now let’s see if it really works. The new lipstick should be in stores this week. FYI: I’m loving the three colors on the left. Hope they look that good on.
