Diane von Furstenberg’s new fragrance

It’s the season of new scents. One of the newest at the fragrance counter is Diane by Diane von Furstenberg.
In a video for Sephora, the designer said she feels people have forgotten the value of a true perfume, what a real perfume means and how much it is a weapon of seduction for women.
The fragrance is built around two of her favorite flowers – frangipani and violet with hints of myrrh, musk and patchouli. Like one of her iconic wrap dresses, the scent is touted as being both powerful and feminine.
The bottle is pretty special, too, with interlocking gold rings.
A 1.7-ounce eau de parfum spray is $85; 3.3-ounce eau de parfum spray, $110 and perfumed body lotion, $45.
Karl Lagerfeld introduces new fragrance in Europe

It’s not unusual for designers and celebrities to put their name on fragrances. German designer Karl Lagerfeld’s new scent, named Karleidoscope, is a play on his name and the design of the bottle.
“I love to play with words, as I love to play with scents,” Lagerfeld told Women’s Wear Daily. “A fragrance is not made to be explained by words. A mix of scents creates something we can smell but not describe. … I prefer a sentimental approach.”
The bottle top is a faceted lens through which you can see several silhouettes of Lagerfeld. “It is a very simple idea but worked out in a refined, detailed way,” he said of the bottle design.
The scent features notes of violet, angelica, freesia, heliotrope, patchouli, tonka bean and benzoin.
The only drawback? The eau de parfum is available exclusively in European Sephora stores.
What’s new? Exude lipstick, a Rachel Zoe fave
For Rachel Zoe’s spring 2012 runway show in New York earlier this month, all the models wore Exude lipstick. Zoe probably had it on, too, because she has said it’s her new fave.
Never heard of Exude? It’s new, and guess who’s giving it lots of lip service. That would be Zoe, but you probably guessed that.
What’s interesting is the design, a crystal applicator which releases the perfect amount of lipstick, according to press information.
Infused with angi-aging ingredients and a minty scent, Exude offers lipstick in nine colors — coral, cranberry, rosy brown, nude, brown, bronze, plum, red and pink. Gloss comes in five colors — crimson, brown, clear, dusty pink and scarlet red.
Lipstick and glass each retail for $29 and are available online at www.exudelipstick.com.

Underwood and Bennett will sing “It Had to Be You.” The singers, who play themselves on the show, perform at a fundraiser that Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and Erin Reagan-Boyle (Bridget Moynahan) are attending for the newly appointed mayor.
Fashion Week spring 2012: BCBGMAXAZRIA
By Samantha Critchell/AP Fashion Writer
NEW YORK – With all the news buzzing at the Lincoln Center tents – John Galliano’s guilty verdict and President Obama’s speech on the economy – Max and Lubov Azria took a soothing approach to lift the mood, at least for a moment.
Dresses continue as their strong suit: A-line sundresses with fanlike pleats, barely there slip dresses and flowing scarf styles. While delicacy and modesty prevailed, there were hints of bolder sexiness with a bra-top style here and a low, open back there.
Most of the looks were rooted in chalk gray, light stone or blush pink but pops of yellow, blue, coral and emerald green were used effectively.
The goal, the Azrias explained in their notes, was a mashup of neutrals with tribal-inspired prints and embroideries “reflecting an urban, global spirit.”
