Checking out fall clothes at FashionCenterDallas
I breezed into Dallas this morning just in time for the Gregor Simmons fall trend presentation at 9 a.m. at the Dallas Market Center, where many regional buyers come to shop for their stores.
Remind me next market that I do not want to drive down the morning of. It drizzled most of the way and the traffic was bumper to bumper starting a few miles north of Lewisville.
I had VIP parking behind the market center, and I do appreciate it, but the lot was roped off. The guy who should have been at the parking lot to let authorized (that would me) people in was standing inside the market entrance. I can only guess it was because he didn’t want to get wet. Well, neither did I.
I had to jump out of my car, move the ropes and drive on in. He stepped outside just long enough to holler at me, asking if my name was on the list. Luckily it was because I had no intention of moving that car.
The fashion gods must have been looking after me, though, because somehow I made it here on time. Rain, traffic and all.
Anyway, Gregor, who has a buying office in New York, said it’s all about knits for fall — lots of cardigans, shaped tunics and sweaters. They looked beautiful. Color looked good, too. More about that later in The Oklahoman.
Most of the day is supposed to be nasty, cold and wet, and many of the retail store owners and buyers are dressed warmly. Seems appropriate that we’re seeing fall clothes.
Would you wear these shoes?
Check out these shoes that were on the runway during the John Galliano fall show in Paris. Do you think these are the new “it” shoes? I’m thinking craft project. Pom-pons, anyone?

GQ magazine’s 10 most stylish men in America
In its March issue, GQ magazine names its 10 Most Stylish Men in America.
Justin Timberlake, featured on the cover, tops the list. The magazine singled out Timberlake for his impact on fashion, willingness to take risks and “knack for targeting trends” such as hats, three-piece suits, skinny ties and beards.
Other stylish men include Mark Ronson, Alexi Lubomirski, Andre Balazs, Kanye West, Sid Mashburn, T.I. and Jason Schwartzman. Agree or not? Still wondering who these guys are?
